Most of my free time during the summer is spent playing/teaching tennis. A lot of times I leave my job here at Holabird and teach for several hours—it makes for some long days, but I love it. During the winter, I don’t teach or play quite as much, but I still string plenty of racquets and I enjoy down time at my house. I love comedies (the stupid kind a la Will Ferrell or Ben Stiller), good books, and video games.

I only run for my life, but I’ve been playing tennis since I was about 10 years old. I played all four years in college. I spent my first two years in junior college and was fortunate enough to play in the NJCAA National Championships twice—my sophomore year I was fourth flight runner-up and an All-American. After junior college, I transferred to Villa Julie College (now Stevenson University) where we were conference champions my first year. Before starting full-time at Holabird Sports, I was the head pro at a country club.

My favorite food is a nice, juicy bacon cheeseburger with everything except mayonnaise. I could never give them up. I think that’s partly why summer is my favorite season. I love to set up the grill, throw on some burgers and hot dogs and hang out with friends and family.

I try not to watch too much TV, but I end up watching more than I should. I DVR just about everything I watch, because—in general—I hate watching commercials. I have to really love a TV show to watch it live. Just about the only thing I watch live is sporting events like the Baltimore Ravens games!

My favorite sundae toppings are hot fudge, peanut butter, whipped cream, marshmallow, with a cherry on top. Friday is my favorite day of the week. I think storms are super cool, as long as they stay on the outside of my house. My favorite movie of all time is Office Space.
