Upper: Flexion Fit™ provides form-fitting comfort without sacrificing support. P.H.F. (Personal Heel Fit) memory foam supplies 2 layers of memory foam in the collar and mold to the athlete’s heel, creating a personalized fit. An exoskeleton Heel Clutching System provides improved support and improves an improved heel fitting environment. Padded air mesh tongue provides increased breathability and comfort. PGuard™ Toe Protector designed to enhance durability.
Midsole: Rearfoot and forefoot GEL® Cushioning Systems attenuates shock during impact and toe off phases, allowing movement in multiple planes as the foot transitions through the gait cycle. SpEVA® Midsole Material improves bounce back characteristics and decreases midsole breakdown. Solyte™ 55 last construction provides super lightweight lasting with medium density for a cushioned, but more stable ride. Removable molded EVA insole provides additional cushioning.
Upper: Non-marking rubber outsole with variable traction pattern and forefoot pivot point. AHAR® High Abrasion Rubber placed in key areas of the outsole for increased durability. Impact Guide System (IGS®) employs linked componentry to enhance the foot’s natural gait from heel strike to toe off.

Loved fun color and feel of shoe. However, ankle rolled during match. It was the 4th or 5th time wearing these shoes. I am now a bit skeptical about stability. I will give more time, since I haven.t read others complain.

True fit, very light and let's your feet breathe! Most importantly, THE SOLES LAST!!!!!! I play competitive tennis and have been a longtime Nike user, however, got TIRED of wearing out the soles of the Nike shoes in less than a month! Someone suggested Asics for all of the above reasons and now I am a believer! I have been wearing my Asics for about a month, and they are still practically brand new! I have used them outdoors and indoors on hard court. Asics is my new tennis shoe!!!! Thanks for making a great product.

After reading a prior review of no break-in time on these shoes I decided to try them. I agree that they were comfortable from the first time I wore them. I wore them around the house first before gunking them up with clay, and I have since played twice with them and have no complaints. They are comfortable, stable, lightweight and grip well. Heel support and arch support seem very good. The tongue doesn't come up too high and rub either.

Tennis requires rapid side-to-side movements and tennis players spend a lot of time on the ball of their foot. This means that tennis players don't go through a traditional heel-to-toe gait cycle as often as a runner might. Most tennis shoes aren't designed with the same accommodations for arch structure and pronation that go into running shoes. These shoes should be fine for someone with a higher arch, but, as always, each person's foot is different so it is important to try the shoes on for comfort before taking them on court for play.Answered on 12/10/2012 by Ryan from Holabird Sports

The GEL-Solution does not have a 6-month outsole guarantee. Most of ASICS' other tennis shoes do have a 6-month outsole guarantee. On all applicable products, you will find a link near the bottom of the product description that denotes that the product has an outsole guarantee.
