The unique anatomically correct lacing design of the ASICS GEL-Tech Walker Neo™ 2 for women reduces the pressure on your foot, so you can walk as long as you want. Generous heel and forefoot GEL cushioning attenuate shock for a smooth, comfortable ride.
Upper: An asymmetrical lacing design provides an anatomically correct lacing environment that reduces the potential for irritation and provides improved comfort and fit. Biomorphic Fit® upper features stretch material that is strategically placed on the upper to help reduce the potential for irritation and buckling. The P.H.F.® (Personal Heel Fit) system features two layers of memory foam that line the collar and mold to the athlete's heel, creating a personalized fit. 3M reflective materials are designed to enhance visibility during low light hours.
Midsole: The Impact Guidance System (I.G.S.®) is linked, category specific componentry that enhances the foot's natural gait. Rearfoot and forefoot GEL® cushioning system attenuates shock during impact and toe-off phases and allows movement in multiple planes as the foot transitions through the gait cycle. The DuoMax® Support System's dual density midsole is positioned to enhance support and stability. Soft Top Duomax® provides enhanced comfort and enhanced gait efficiency. SoLyte® midsole material is a lighter weight compound than ASICS' standard EVA and SpEVA® and features enhanced cushioning and durability. The Space Trusstic System® is a midfoot stabilizer that creates a pocket between the Trusstic System® device and the midsole, allowing for controlled midsole deformation and more efficient foot function. SoLyte® 45 employs 45 degree SoLyte® lasting material for a soft platform feel.
Outsole: Walking-specific outsole path follows the walking gait from heel-touch to toe-off. AHAR® (ASICS® High Abrasion Rubber) plugs are placed in critical areas of the outsole for exceptional durability.

I walk about an hour a day with my dogs and loved these better than my old Adidas and reebok ones. My stride is better and I feel more stable. Out of the box I had no rubbing anywhere. I especially like the cushioning at the heel and the lacing across the middle feels very secure. I will definitely get this shoe again.

I purchased these shoes because I have large bunions and toes that are crooked. I am a senior citizen and try to walk 2 miles a day to keep mobil. The shoes are very comfortable, no stress on bunions or toes, but not enough support to walk 2 miles every day.

The GEL-Tech Walker Neo 2 and the GEL-Intensity do have some similarities, but they are really designed for different purposes. The GEL-Intensity is a cross training shoe that is ideal for a variety of activities including weight lifting, aerobics/cardio classes, and light running. The GEL-Tech Walker Neo 2 is a walking shoe and ideally should only be used for casual or fitness walking. It does not feature enough lateral support for the side-to-side movements that many cross training activities require and it does not offer quite enough cushioning for running. Both shoes do feature ASICS' DuoMax support system to help control overpronation. Ultimately, it depends on what kind of activities you plan to do while wearing the shoes.
