On has introduced a new four-way, stretch mesh in the toe box that provides a gratifying and remarkably adaptive fit. Complete with a saddle construction around the midfoot, the Cloudster 2015 combines a firm midfoot wrap with a forefoot package that will accommodate many foot types.
"The four-way mesh in the forefoot is designed to fit most foot types," noted Mike Robinson, On's Technical Representative Manager. "Customers who have a wider foot should be able to fit comfortably in the Cloudster."
On, a Swiss brand, gained acclaim for Cloudtec technology in the midsole and outsole of its shoes. Most notable are the "cloud" pods in the outsole, the very reason that the Cloudster and the other running shoes in On's line receive their names. These pods absorb both the vertical impact forces as well as horizontal shearing forces with each stride, resulting in less shock absorbed by one's lower legs. The cloud pods also contract upon impact with the ground and recoil during toe-off to provide an extra level of responsiveness that many shoes do not offer.
Likewise, a Speedboard built into the midsole encourages a swift and efficient transition from heel to toe. Overall, the On Cloudster is an ideal fit for underpronators, neutral-footed customers, and mild overpronators who are looking for a responsive shoe that can handle high mileage.
The On Cloudster sits atop a 7mm heel-toe offset. The men’s size 9 weighs 10.5 ounces, and the women’s size 7 weighs 9.5 ounces.
