Best iPhone 5 Running Accessories
I love listening to music while I run. Like many people, I find that the right music helps me to run longer and run faster. It can even give me an extra boost when I need it.

In addition, I like having my iPhone with me while I run outdoors. It provides an extra sense of security, especially when I’m running somewhere new. It’s nice to know that if I twist my ankle I can call for help or if I get lost (yes, it has happened) I can use my GPS to get back on track. Best of all, it lets me use my running apps to keep track of my progress.

There are many running accessories for the iPhone 5, this list isn't complete, it's just my favorite running packs/carriers/armbands for the iPhone 5:

Tune Belt iPhone 5 Sport Armband

This is my go-to armband for running outside. It holds my iPhone 5 securely so I absolutely never have to worry about it. It’s super light and comfortable to wear. I know that people always say "I forget I have it on." In this case, I can honestly say that I do forget I have it on. The Tune Belt never rubs or irritates, which is important to me since I have a few old scars. Even when I’m sweating on the hottest days, it never bothers me.

As an extra plus, I don't have to take it out to use the navigation. I know that many of these smart phone holders have a clear window that you should be able to use easily. However, this isn't always the case. I've found myself having to pull out my phone in order to use it, but with this one, it actually works the way it should.

Other extra perks:

  • It’s washable. This is key unless you want your armband to eventually start stinking.

  • It conveniently stores your earphone cord so it's not getting caught up as you pump your arms.

  • It offers protection. I've even been caught in a surprise rain storm while running and this armband protected my iPhone.

Tune Belt iPhone 5 Sport Belt

My husband prefers to have everything around his waist instead of wearing it on his arm. I use his when I'm in a hurry and can't remember where I put my armband. I don’t mind the sport belt – it does what it claims to do – it comfortably and securely holds your smart phone and protects it from scratches, bumps, and the weather. I will admit that I like that it has an extra pocket on the back which easily holds my ID and house key. Plus, it is actually comfortable to wear.

Pros:

  • It doesn't bounce.

  • Like the armband, the navigational window actually works.

  • It's hand washable so it's relatively easy to keep clean.

  • It lets you put your device in either direction which is perfect for left-handers as well as right-handers.

Personally, I prefer my armband but the belt does work just as well. In my case, it's simply a matter of personal preference. I can work my iPhone while running easier when it's on my arm compared to when it's around my waist.

The Original SPIbelt

I love the SPIbelt because it’s only as big as you need it to be. It starts off incredibly small and incredibly light and expands to fit whatever you need to carry. Plus, no matter how much you put in it, it never bounces or moves around and the clasp doesn't bother me at all.

This little belt is deceiving. I've crammed shed layers and empty water bottles into this belt. I can easily fit my iPhone into the belt (in fact, you could fit any type of smart phone in here); however, as I've mentioned, I prefer to keep it on my arm. Instead, I use my belt for my energy gels, ID, keys and anything else I need to have with me. I often take a small camera with me on my runs (when I need one that’s a bit better than my phone camera) and it fits in this belt perfectly.

One of the best things about this belt is that it’s easily adjustable... perfect if you’re looking to lose a few pounds.

When I run I almost always have my iPhone armband and my SPIbelt on. During the winter I would often start my run with arm sleeves and gloves and have them comfortably stowed in my SPIbelt on my way home. I hate when I end up having to carry anything so this setup works perfectly for me.

Nathan Quickview

This is my favorite iPhone holder for the gym. On cold or rainy days when I’m running on a treadmill, this little water bottle holder is absolutely perfect. I have everything I need, right at my fingertips.

I love the bottle because it never, ever, ever leaks. The push-pull cap is easy to use while you are exercising and you don’t have to have a vise-like grip to get the water out. It’s easy to squeeze so easy to drink.

Don’t worry about having your smart phone next to a water bottle. The zipper pocket is weather-resistant to keep all of your electronics safe and sounding great.

Plus, it holds your ID, money and keys. It’s literally the perfect all-in-one hydration, phone holding item. I even store any jewelry that I've forgotten to take off in the pocket. Since I've been using this at the gym, I haven't lost a single important thing, everything is always right where it's supposed to be.
