Runner's World 2015 Running Shoe Guide
Runner's World recently released their annual Summer Running Shoe Guide along with their coveted awards.

Best Road Shoes 2015

This year's Editor's Choice award went to the ASICS Gel-Nimbus 17. The Nimbus has been a crowd pleaser for years thanks to its plush cushioning. Runner's World calls it a "luxury sports model" thanks to its lightweight, flexibility and cushioning. As one runner said, "They've perfected this shoe."

The New Balance 1500v1 won the Best Debut. For people who want cushioning and stability without the weight the 1500v1 may have you as excited as the Runner's World testers were. The midfoot is stabilize and a firm block under the arch helps prevent your foot from rolling inward. As Runner's World said, "This new model wowed our testers with its fit, stability and ultralight performance." Great for racing and speedwork.

The Best Update award goes to the Saucony Hurricane ISO. It's hard to find a stability shoe that offers enough support without feeling bulky. The Hurricane ISO does that and provides more foam for a plush run.

The 361 Sensation won this year's Best Buy award. While this shoe may be moderately priced it feels high-end. Testers found that the shoe managed to "hit the sweet sport of being moderately cushioned and stable while also feeling responsive."

Best Trail Shoes 2015

For trail shoes, the big Editor's Choice winner is the Altra Superior 2.0. The number one reason for the win seems to be the fit: the wide, square toe and narrow heel, plus the Superior 2.0 molds to your foot. Also mentioned is the incredible traction thanks to deeper outsole lugs, flexability, insertable rock plate for extra protection, light weight and cushioning.

The Best Update for trail shoes was awarded to the Brooks Cascadia 10. The Cascadia has been a trail runners favorite for a long time now (a decade to be exact) but what makes this update special is the upper which wraps your foot to stabilize it on a variety of terrains. For added stability, the new pivot posts on the sole keep your foot from rolling. The Cascadia 10 strikes that perfect balance between protection and letting you feel the trail beneath you.
