HEAD Metallix™: Made of a specially designed matrix of carbon fibers and a new crystalline metal alloy. This alloys grain size is 1,000 times smaller than that of a typical metal. The decreased grain size means increased performance, or, as te Hall-Petch Effect states: smaller grains = stronger material. The result is a lighter, stronger and more powerful racquet than ever before.

HEAD Stabilizer: Located in the throat of the racquet, the new HEAD Stabilizer eliminates racquet vibration and ensures the ultimate in comfort on every shot.

Flexpoint Technology: Breaking the rules of traditional racquet design. Consumers have long been asking for more control in a racquet, now HEAD has the answer. Flexpoint, an exciting new technology that places two precisely engineered control holes in the racquet's head. These two newly designed holes, positioned at 3 and 9 o'clock on the racquet head, work together to bring power in control. The dimple is engineered to create flexibility by reducing beam height by a maximum of 25 %. The hole increases sectional flexibility up to 50%. The racquet forms a "cup" that surrounds the ball. Dwell time is increased and control is maximized. To visualize this, think of how your hand cups a ball. This cupping effect produces control like never before, with no loss of power. The end result? Unprecedented control with absolutely no loss of power.

I have been playing with the Metalix 4 for some time now and really enjoy the racquet. This model is no longer available in stores. What model or line is replacing the Metallix? What racquet would you recommend and be comparable to the Metallix 4?

                    A:

We still carry the Metalix 4 if you would like to order the racquet that you have accustomed your game too. There is no direct replacement for the racquet, but one with similar specs would be the HEAD Graphene Prestige PWR >>> http://www.holabirdsports.com/head-graphene-prestige-pwr.html.

According to another customer, The Metallix 4 gives a decent amount of power, depth and topspin. The open 16 x 19 string pattern combined with a lower swing weight makes it easier to get spin and plenty of ball speed off the stringbed.

The HEAD Metallix 4 does have a pretty open string pattern so it will offer good spin potential.
