adiPower Barricade Clay tennis shoes are miCoach compatible and pair with the adiPower Barricade apparel line.
Upper: Perforated synthetic leather provides ventilation with increased comfort. Padded mesh tongue offers increased ventilation. Heel counters deliver increased support. Padded heel collar provides step in comfort that lasts. Stability claws help maintain quick cuts and fast footwork during extreme lateral movements and changes in direction. Textile lining.
Midsole: Removable molded EVA insole gives anatomical comfort. adiPRENE®+ offers full length forefoot cushioning and maintains forefoot propulsion and efficiency. adiPRENE® insert in the heel provides increased cushioning and shock absorption. Extended TORSION® System for increased midfoot and forefoot integrity with better surface adaptation and stability.
Outsole: Full herringbone pattern provides the best traction for clay court surfaces. Non-marking rubber outsole with adiWEAR® 6 provides the best durability in high-wear areas.

I use this shoe only on clay courts and the full herringbone sole grips the surface well. The soles show no wear after weeks of play. They are very comfortable for me. My medium foot width fits well in the shoe. My toes fit well in the toe box since the shoe is more squared off than pointed.

The adiPower Barricade 7 Clay is adidas’ clay-court specific shoe, but most of their tennis shoes are designed with an all-court outsole that performs well on clay or hard courts. If you are looking for a lighter shoe in the adidas line, many players switch to the adiZero Feather when playing on the clay. It is much lighter than the Barricade, but won’t have as much cushioning. Tennis shoes and running shoes are designed very differently, so none of adidas’ tennis shoes will be too similar to your Supernova running shoes; however, if you like the feel of a well-cushioned shoe, the adidas Barricade series is adidas’ top-of-the-line tennis shoe when it comes to cushioning.Answered on 3/20/2012 by Ryan from Holabird Sports
