Poor quality in this shoe. Soles totally came apart in 3 1/2 months. I had to use shoe goo until i can replace them. My 608 pair lasted way longer for half the price. I wont be buying any 800 series NB again!

This is a newer version of a New Balance classic. I have been wearing them for years replacing one pair with a new pair every time I wear them out.

I have worn this series of shoes since they were 852. and I have high arches. But I bought the 857s and have had soreness on the outside of my feet. Your overview says that they are meant for low arches. Have you changed the purpose of the shoe. The 852 were the best shoes I ever had , and every model since have been less comfortable. Can you recommend one of your shoes for my feet.

                A:

The New Balance 857 is almost exactly the same, spec wise, to the 852. It is Ideal for people that underpronte or have low arches to flat feet. If you are experiencing any discomfort, We would suggest replacing the insole for added support. Here is a list of our most popular cross training shoes.

            • Q:

I have very flat feet. I use a custom orthotic in all my shoes. An orthotic fit well in my NB 846 which is no longer available. Can I expect a similar fit in a NB 857?

                A:

The cut of New Balance's footbed is almost identical in a vast majority of their walking shoes. So you should be able to expect a similar fit. To be sure, though, we placed one of our sample orthotics in a New Balance 857. Judging from how well the sample fit, we would feel safe to tell you that the 857 will accommodate your custom-fit orthotic.

            • About New Balance
New Balance has grown to be one of the largest manufacturers of running shoes and they've done this without expensive advertising campaigns. New Balance knows that there is no better press than positive word-of-mouth. New Balance began as an arch support company, but in 1960, they designed the first running shoe with a ripple sole and the first running shoe that came in varying widths. It didn't take long before New Balance running shoes were used by college track teams all over the country. Today, New Balance makes their shoes available in more widths than almost any other company and that means that there's a New Balance that can fit nearly any foot. Although they started by making running shoes, New Balance tennis shoes are an industry staple and are loved by recreational and serious players. New Balance also makes fine running and tennis apparel, as well as a variety of socks and other sporting accessories.
