product details
Stability. Although the name is a little different, the ASICS GT-2000™ continues the series' tradition of providing excellent support and cushioning for moderate overpronators. This shoe is engineered with premium features and is sure to please runners over any distance.
Upper: P.H.F.™ (Personal Heel Fit) system features 2 layers of memory foam to line the heel collar and mold to the athlete's heel creating a personalized fit. Mesh upper with synthetic overlays. Textile lining.
Midsole: Impact Guidance System (I.G.S.®) design philosophy employs linked componentry that enhances the foot's natural gait from heel strike to toe-off. Heel and forefoot GEL® Cushioning Systems attenuate shock during impact and toe-off phases and allows movement in multiple planes as the foot transitions through the gait cycle. Removable, ComforDry™ sockliner provides cushioning performance and anti-microbial properties for a cooler, drier, healthier environment. DuoMax® Support System uses a dual-density midsole system that is positioned to enhance support and stability. Solyte® material is a lighter weight midsole compound than ASICS' standard EVA and SpEVA® that features enhanced cushioning and durability. Midfoot Trusstic System® stabilizes the foot allowing for controlled midsole deformation and more efficient foot function. Guidance Line® vertical flex groove decouples the tooling along the line of progression for enhanced gait efficiency.
21mm heel height, 11mm forefoot height.
Outsole: AHAR® (ASICS High Abrasion Rubber) is placed in critical areas of the outsole for exceptional durability. DuraSponge® outsole uses a blown AHAR® compound for enhanced cushioning and durability in the forefoot.

Q:
I currently run in the mizuno alchemy 12 shoe. Does this shoe compare in support and stability with the mizuno oneAsked on 12/28/2012 by Anonymous1 answer
A:
The Mizuno Wave Alchemy 12 falls into a category of shoes called "motion control." These shoes are designed to provide maximum pronation control and support for the foot. The ASICS GT-2000 is a stability shoe designed to provide support for moderate to severe overpronation, but it won't provide quite as much support as the Alchemy. In the ASICS line, the ASICS GEL-Forte (http://www.holabirdsports.com/catalogsearch/result/?cat=720&q=Forte+men) would be most comparable to the Alchemy 12.Answered on 12/31/2012 by Ryan from Holabird Sports
Q:
will this running shoe work well with orthodicsAsked on 12/27/2012 by Anonymous2 answers
A:
The ASICS GT-2000 is an excellent match for properly fitted orthopedic inserts.Answered on 12/27/2012 by Community Answer from NoneA:
It really depends partly upon personal preference and how the orthotic affects the fit and function of the shoe. Any orthotic or replacement insole can affect the fit of a shoe, so it is important to try the shoe on with the insert you intend to wear. If you are going to be using a custom orthotic, you may want to try something like the ASICS GEL-Oracle (http://www.holabirdsports.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=oracle), the Saucony Echelon (http://www.holabirdsports.com/catalogsearch/result/?cat=862&q=echelon) or the Brooks Dyad (http://www.holabirdsports.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=dyad). All three of these models are designed with wide bases and no medial posting, making them perfect for accommodating custom orthotics.Answered on 12/31/2012 by Ryan from Holabird Sports
