Upper: P.H.F. (Personal Heel Fit) system features two layers of memory foam that line the collar and mold to the athlete’s heel for a personalized fit. Mesh upper with synthetic overlays for added support and style. Padded tongue and heel collar for step-in comfort. Discrete eyelets blend right into the style of the upper.
Midsole: Impact Guidance System (I.G.S.®) design philosophy employs linked componentry that enhances the foot’s natural gait from heel strike to toe-off. Heel and forefoot GEL cushioning absorbs impact. DuoMax® Support System uses dual-density midsole system positioned to enhance support and stability. Solyte® midsole material is a lighter weight midsole compound than standard EVA or SpEVA®. Gender specific Space Trusstic System® midfoot stabilizer creates a pocket between the Trusstic System® device and the midsole for controlled midsole deformation and more efficient foot function. Removable, ComforDry™ sockliner provides cushioning performance and anti-microbial properties for a cooler, drier, healthier environment.
Outsole: DuraSponge® outsole component uses a blown AHAR® compound for enhanced cushioning and durability in the forefoot. Guidance Line® vertical flex groove decouples the tooling along the line of progression for enhanced gait efficiency. AHAR® (ASICS High Abrasion Rubber) is placed in critical areas of the outsole for exceptional durability.

I found out Asics run about 1/2 size smaller than other shoes--but I knew that from trying on other models in a store. I would note that the size comparison chart on Holabird wanted me to buy a whole size larger (just on this model--it was weird), which I doubted, so I bought two pair and returned the larger ones b/c the comparison chart was wrong JUST ON THIS MODEL. I wear a 10.5 wide women's and it said I should get a 9.5 men's--there is usually 1/1/2 sizes difference between men's and women's and the 9's fit perfectly.)
Asics used to be the only sneakers that offered any anti-pronation support so I got hooked on them (and still think they are the best), but have historically hated the designs and colors they come out with--wild and tacky; but I like these.
I didn't check "durable" only because I haven't had them long enough to make that determination, but I will say the Asics I bought in the past lasted forever, never showed any wear, and were extremely durable.

Though I have purchased running shoes from you in the past, I was very disappointed when I learned that despite the shoes being backordered and late beyond even the extended date, my credit card had been charged at the time I place the order. I called to report this and was again disppointed with the poor response.
Not a practice that invites return customers.

I work out 3 to 5 times a week and these shoes are good for 350-400 miles. I also love the fit cupping my narrow heels.
Service and delivery comments:
I have been buying my work out shoes from Holabird for several years now. Prices are always competitive and delivery is fast and accurate. I've only had one problem with stitching on a shoe and Holabird replaced it promptly. I love Holabird service.
