Comments about Prince NFS Viper VI Mid Men:

I purchased this shoe on hope that it might be a replacement for the 3/4 high Prince you discontinued. This shoe is no comparison. I will not be purchasing another pair.

I'd still like to see the 3/4 full size cut make a comeback.
They were the best NSF viper model ever.

Comments about Prince NFS Viper VI Mid Men:

I have been wearing mid Vipers for years now and I think are good (not great) shoes. Initially, I bought them for the natural foot shape feature and the ankle support and I continue to wear them for those two main reasons. The outer soles wear nicely. The inner soles lose their cushioning relatively quickly so I often will put in third party insoles. With nearly every pair I have owned, the leather on the outside of the shoe separates from the outer sole on at least one of the shoes. However, this usually happens around the time I am ready to replace them so it does not bother me much.

Lace holes fail

By backhandslicer

from Boston

About Me Enthusiast

Pros

  • Good Ankle Support
  • Good Shock Absorption

Cons

  • Heavy
  • Upper Comes Apart from Base
  • Upper Wears Through

Best Uses

Comments about Prince NFS Viper VI Mid Men:

I have worn these shoes--an expensive habit given their longevity--for ankle support for years. They are good for that, though understandably heavy. In the top two laceholes, the plastic grommets ( Prince changed from metal years ago) wear though and fail. In the lower ones, which are leather with unreinforced holes, the lace eats through the leather in two months--also causing failure. As a result, shoes with perfectly good soles become garbage.
Prince saves pennies and $100 shoes fail prematurely.

I have repeatedly sent these shoes to Prince with my concern, but to no avail.

        A:

The Prince NFS Viper VI Mid is cut lower than the Viper V 3/4, but it still provides plenty of ankle support. Overall it is a very stable and comfortable shoe.

      • A:

The Prince NFS Viper VI Mid Men shoe is of mid cut height so is a little lower in comparison to the Viper V 3/4 shoe which is of 3/4 cut height.
