  • Q:

The last decent New Balance shoe I had was 07 pairs of MW926. My severe supination issue requires inserts and those shoes lasted well and for a long time. The 927's I bought were junk and tore open after 06 months-a wasted 03 pairs and $. Tried a 928 but the toes were too narrow. Now the 926 are all gone. What in your line is an ideal walking shoe for the supination problem?

      A:

It is difficult to make a recommendation without seeing your foot in person. In general, the best thing for a supinator is a neutral shoe. Any kind of support features on the medial (instep) side of the shoe will simply push a supinating foot further to the outside. Also, it sounds like you may be using a prescription orthotic. When using an orthotic to correct biomechanical issues, we usually recommend a neutral shoe as well. This allows the orthotic to take care of the correction without interference from the shoe. The 1765 is a neutral walking shoe so on paper it should suit your needs, but everyone's feet are unique. Shoes fit people differently and a shoe that is comfortable for one person doesn't necessarily work for another person, especially when orthotics or inserts come into play. It is important to try the shoes with your insert, to make sure that they feel comfortable before wearing them for an extended period of time. • Q:

Does NB 1765 walking shoe have rollbar? If not, which New Balance walking shoes have rollbars?

      A:

The 1765 does not feature New Balance's ROLLBAR technology. If your arch is pretty low and your foot overpronates and you are looking for extra support, you might be interested in the New Balance 928 (http://www.holabirdsports.com/catalogsearch/result/?cat=740&q=new+balance+928). The 928 is one of New Balance's most supportive walking shoes and does offer lots of support.

  • About New Balance
New Balance has grown to be one of the largest manufacturers of running shoes and they've done this without expensive advertising campaigns. New Balance knows that there is no better press than positive word-of-mouth. New Balance began as an arch support company, but in 1960, they designed the first running shoe with a ripple sole and the first running shoe that came in varying widths. It didn't take long before New Balance running shoes were used by college track teams all over the country. Today, New Balance makes their shoes available in more widths than almost any other company and that means that there's a New Balance that can fit nearly any foot. Although they started by making running shoes, New Balance tennis shoes are an industry staple and are loved by recreational and serious players. New Balance also makes fine running and tennis apparel, as well as a variety of socks and other sporting accessories.
