Comments about New Balance 1187 WP Lady:
I like these shoes because they are lighter in weight than the 1004 series which I have used in the past. They grip well on hard courts without sticking. They also have eye appeal and I have gotten several compliments from my fellow tennis players! The downside of these for me is that the toe box is too narrow for my foot, even in the D width, so there has been a little pressure on toenails. I would also prefer a bit more arch support, but I have not had negative after-effects for wearing, so this could be a personal comfort preference more than a functional problem.

Q:
The last 2 New Balance tennis shoes I got (656 & 653) caused rubbing on my ankle bones, inside. It was as if the material was too hard & too high. These - 1187- are ok for diabetics, so I'm hoping they'll be softer in the upper part so I can lace them all the way up. Can you reassure me?Asked on 8/27/2012 by Lorna from Accord, NY1 answer
A:
Every person's foot is different, so it is tough to say for sure that these won't rub your ankle. I wore these on court for several months, found them to be very comfortable, and never had any problems with rubbing or discomfort.Answered on 8/31/2012 by Ryan from Holabird Sports
