New Balance 1260v3 running shoes give your feet the lightweight and cushioned feel you want to start clocking more miles. A lower-to-the-ground profile provides greater control and a more natural feel as you run. Fresh colors on this updated version offer a faster look and style. Ideal for overpronators who seek enhanced stability.

Upper: Breathable air mesh with synthetic overlays deliver ventilated and flexible support. Plush padded tongue and heel collar enhance instep comfort. TPU welds help eliminate irritating seams.

Midsole: A T-beam lightweight flexible thermoplastic shank inlaid within the midsole provides extra side-to-side stability and arch support. N2 compressed cushioning foam allows for a lower-profile shoe and allows the foot to be closer to the ground. Stabilcore® medial support system provides an extremely smooth transition from heel strike to toe-off. ABZORB® cushioning in the midfoot provides exceptional shock absorption.

Outsole: Blown rubber provides cushioning and traction. NDurance rubber compound is used for maximum durability in high wear areas.

Runner's World Best Update
September 2013

"The 1260 has slowly but steadily rounded into fine form. A year ago, we lauded the v2 for dropping an ounce of weight, but noted that it was still too firm. On this go-round, the 1260 has lost another ounce, but the cushioning is just right. Some of that weight savings likely comes from the use of a different material in the post—the dense wedge that supports your foot when it rolls inward. Another big improvement is in forefoot flexibility, due in part to rounded patches of rubber used on the outsole rather than the broad, square pieces found on the v2. The result worked well for our wear-testrs. 'As a heavier runner, I really appreciate supportive and stable shoes,' says Keith Carnes of East Lansing, Michigan. 'This shoe supported me well through my longer runs.' "

Uneven pressure underfoot

By Courtney

from CT

This is a very uncomfortable running shoe. The control and support is completely different on each side under the foot. The inner half of this shoe delivers intense, tight pressure underfoot, the outside half is fine (and the pressure is unrelated to width). I feel pressure on the ball of my foot that carries through to my ankle and up to my knees - which has never happened with any other running shoe in the past. I even went to the orthopedist to make sure my knees and gait are OK, and they're fine. I would have expected a far better shoe design at this price point.

250 miles without injury or pain

By runninggal

from Newton, NJ, USA

After trying every brand possible and trying different sizes I finally have a winner. I have been able to run without pain an average of 25-30 miles a week for the first time in my running career which as been over 35 years. As a coach of a cross country team I will also recommend these to my team. Great support, comfort, and control but not so much that I don't feel the road. Just wish the blue and lime would come back in my size, been waiting a month to order the second back-up pair.

I have been wearing this shoe and the replacement products for many years and been very happy and thrilled with the stability and support. I just bought a new pair and wore them for one day and my feet were killing me. I then went home and put on my old pair....what a relief!! I then experimented and put one old shoe on and the new one on the other foot. The new 1260 is nothing to compare to the older model. It is flimsy...much less support...and I could actually feel the design of the bottom of the shoe thru the shoe. I despise the thought of shoe hunting again. I have looked far and wide on the internet to find the older model for purchase. There is not one in my size.

This shoe has average control.

I have been wearing new balance shoes for 20+ years. I am disappointed in this one as it does not have the stability that the prior shoe had. I also do not like the fact that the tongue of the shoe is attacjhed. This makes it harder to put on your shoes.

Great so far....

By Melissa

from Louisville, KY, USA

I've logged in around 50 miles of pavement running in these shoes. I have always ran/exercised in asics (which I have had recent quality issues with) so I decided to give NB a try. Although indicated for stability I feel the cushioning is sufficient for pavement running. I have worn these in "street" clothes to the store/shopping and received compliments from strangers. I ordered the white/blue combo and love them!! This is my first running shoe from new balance and I am really impressed.

  • About New Balance
New Balance has grown to be one of the largest manufacturers of running shoes and they've done this without expensive advertising campaigns. New Balance knows that there is no better press than positive word-of-mouth. New Balance began as an arch support company, but in 1960, they designed the first running shoe with a ripple sole and the first running shoe that came in varying widths. It didn't take long before New Balance running shoes were used by college track teams all over the country. Today, New Balance makes their shoes available in more widths than almost any other company and that means that there's a New Balance that can fit nearly any foot. Although they started by making running shoes, New Balance tennis shoes are an industry staple and are loved by recreational and serious players. New Balance also makes fine running and tennis apparel, as well as a variety of socks and other sporting accessories.
