Comments about New Balance 587 Women's White/Gray/Blue:

I purchased this because it was cheapest of the NB shoes that indicated suitability for pronation problems. However, it did not give me the support I wanted and have been accustomed to.

Service and delivery comments:

I called Customer Service to say that i wanted to return/ exchange the shoe for another model. Although I returned the shoes with the paperwork indicating my exchange wishes, to this date I have received no package or correspondence.

          Comments about New Balance 587 Women's White/Gray/Blue:

I've been wearing these shoes for about 10 years and I love the support they give, especially when I add an insert. However the shoes become very squeeky after very little use. I've tried a couple of different remedies, but nothing seems to help. I just think it has to do with the way they are being made.
These shoes are hard to find online so I was glad to find them on Holabird's website!

Is this shoe really good for someone with a low arch. I am looking for medium support but I have a low arch. All the reviewers have average support which does not help me. It looks like a great shoe.

              A:

The New Balance 587 is a motion control shoe so it is excellent for people with very low arches. It is designed to provide lots of support for severe overpronation (inward rolling of the foot). Without seeing your foot in person, it is difficult to make a recommendation, but it sounds like the New Balance 587 might be a good choice for you. If you are looking for something with a bit less support, you might also want to check out the New Balance 990 (http://www.holabirdsports.com/catalogsearch/result/?cat=740&q=new+balance+990). The 990 is designed for people with medium to low arches and moderate to severe overpronation issues.

          • About New Balance
New Balance has grown to be one of the largest manufacturers of running shoes and they've done this without expensive advertising campaigns. New Balance knows that there is no better press than positive word-of-mouth. New Balance began as an arch support company, but in 1960, they designed the first running shoe with a ripple sole and the first running shoe that came in varying widths. It didn't take long before New Balance running shoes were used by college track teams all over the country. Today, New Balance makes their shoes available in more widths than almost any other company and that means that there's a New Balance that can fit nearly any foot. Although they started by making running shoes, New Balance tennis shoes are an industry staple and are loved by recreational and serious players. New Balance also makes fine running and tennis apparel, as well as a variety of socks and other sporting accessories.
