Comments about Gamma X-ST Stringing Machine:

First time stringer. I read newbies took up to 3 hours to string the first time. Took me longer but mainly due to what I now view as basic instructions lacking in the how to use manual. This is a crank style machine and there weren't any videos on the web on how to use. The assembly instructions were for an older version of the machine and some parts were different. With the help of someone who has strung before I figured it out. He told me the racket I used for my first stringing job wasn't the easiest to figure out but agreed that the instructions lacked information. After we finished he used his tension measuring device and the tension was spot on per the stringer settings. After all is said and done the machine works well and we are happy with the purchase. I think it would be helpful if Gamma sent along a tutorial video specific to the machine.

      Service and delivery comments:

Came with a large scratch on the top of the painted base.

      • Q:

Does the machine comes with fixed badminton clamps (or adapters)? If not, is it possible to buy clamps that fit on the rails?

          A:

You can string the badminton racquets on this machine. It also comes with four shoulder supports to fit the frame. Some stringers down the line, purchase a Badminton head frame support that can be special ordered by us.

      • Q:

How much does this machine weigh? I noticed a huge discrepancy in shipping weight between the progression ST II and the X-ST on Amazon and am trying to compare the two machines. Are there any other differences other than the tray/drawer configuration and the weight?
Asked on 7/27/2013 by Josh from United States

        • Staff Reviewer

          A:

According to information we've gotten from the manufacturer, the X-ST's shipping weight should be approximately 51 pounds and the Progression ST II's shipping weight should be approximately 52 pounds. The dimensions of the shipping boxes should be identical (33 x 20 x 20 inches). The only difference between the two machines is that the Progression ST II features two tool trays while the X-ST features one tool tray and two built-in drawers.
