Kinetic: A strip of pods containing hundreds of tiny lead bearings is incorporated inside of the racquet frame during production. If you shake the racquet it sounds almost like sand inside the frame. This strip creates a secondary energy source, reduces shock & dampens vibration, and provides exceptional torsional stability. Simply put Kinetic is better shots, more often, with less pain!

Ionic: Ionic technology delivers advancement to the famed Kinetic Technology adding a Jetron fill to the chambers. Jetron is a remarkable inelastic composition of ionizing carbon structures used as a coating for the Kinetic mass and chambers, creating a completely clean and unique feel of pure atomic energy.

Comments about Pro Kennex Kinetic Ionic 5 (Ki-5) 2012:

I will change my previous poor review of this racquet. After continuing to suffer with tennis elbow I took some time off and after that I started using the Ki 5 again. It took a long time to get used to, but it is a very solid racquet that does a good job of dampening shock and vibration. Between using the Ki 5 and flex bar exercises my tennis elbow is finally gone.

Comments about Pro Kennex Kinetic Ionic 5 (Ki-5) 2012:

I bought this racquet to try to help my tennis elbow. I am a 4.0 player and play 2-3 times per week. This racquet is simply too heavy for me and I have not been able to get used to it. I end up hitting late on a lot of balls and that is just as bad for the arm. I does do a good job of shock absorption, but has very little feel. It may be good fit for big hitting baseline players.

            A:

The 315 is meant to designate the unstrung weight of the racquet in grams.

whats the difference between this racquet and the 7G
          Asked on 4/13/2012 by Anonymous

          1 answer

          • Staff Reviewer

            A:

These two racquets are similar, but there are a few key differences. The Pro Kennex Kinetic Ionic 5 and the Pro Kennex Kinetic Pro 7G are from two different (but similar) technology families. Although both use Kinetic technology to dampen shock, the Kinetic Ionic 5 is the next evolution of Kinetic technology and uses a special coating inside the Kinetic chambers that prevents the material from becoming stuck to the walls of the chamber. Additionally, the Kinetic Ionic 5 features 5 grams of the Kinetic material, while the Kinetic Pro 7G features 7 grams of the Kinetic material.
