Comments about Wilson Hyper Hammer 5.3 Stretch Over:

I am a three day a week senior player (65+) and have been playing with this racket for the past 15 years. I am delighted that the racket is still being manufactured. I currently have 3 and usually purchase a replacement racket every couple years.

      Service and delivery comments:

Service has always been great at Holabird whether I am buying shoes or rackets.

Comments about Wilson Hyper Hammer 5.3 Stretch Over:

The racquet looks very different from my others of the same model (have about five). Handle cap is cheap looking with a metallic W, not like my old ones. Feels like a cheap knock-off. And let me add, this is the second time I've reviewed the racquet; my other review, a month ago, never made it to the review page. What's up with that!?!

Bought 2 of these for my 11 yr old son (2nd as a back-up). Great for a beginner. Light, forgiving, plenty of spin & power. Should serve him well for years as he improves. Awesome racquet, especially for the price.

How does the Hyper Hammer 5.3 Stretch Over compare with the Hammer Outeredge which is no longer available?

                Thanks
Asked on 5/4/2013 by Mooley from VA

                  A:

The Wilson Hyper Hammer 5.3 Oversize is not overly similar to the H1 Outer Edge. The Outer Edge had a 135 square inch head and was 28.5 inches long. The Hyper Hammer 5.3 Oversize has 110 square inch head and is only 27.5 inches long. The closest racquet in Wilson's current line is probably the Wilson One BLX (http://www.holabirdsports.com/wilson-one-blx-118.html). It has a 118 square inch head, but it is still only 27.5 inches long. You might also be interested in the Gamma RZR Bubba (http://www.holabirdsports.com/gamma-rzr-bubba.html). The RZR Bubba has a 137 square inch head and is 29 inches long, making it a pretty close replacement for the H1 Outer Edge.
