Microfiber Overlay Materials deliver a lightweight and secure fit. Synthetic Overlay Materials provide lightweight support.

Midsole: Super DNA midsole provides optimum adaptive cushioning. Guide Rails encourage the body’s preferred motion path. Full-length S-257 Cushole is durable, energy-efficient midsole compound utilized as an insole board for even more cushioning and flexibility. Runner's World Best Update
March 2016

"Brooks reimagined the Transcend in this third version, making it lighter and less bulky while still providing a protective ride. The geometry of the Transcend, with its wide, straight stance and built-up “guiderails” along the sides of the midsole, is intended to let your foot move in its preferred pattern while keeping it from straying too far and causing trouble. In this version, the guiderails are softer and the toe more turned up to allow a quicker roll. The upper is also more pliable, with three layers of mesh wrapping the foot. Testers loved the improved fit and ride and found that the sole provided great cushioning without compromising stability or road feel.

Comments about Brooks Transcend 3 Men's Silver/Orange Popsicle/High Risk Red:

Brooks are my go too, last pair were ghost (little stiff on cold mornings) Glycerin before that which I really liked. But I will say I have recently purchased the Transcends. A couple of training runs and just completed the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon with complete comfort. Temps were in low 40's and wet streets for much of the run with absolute "0" issues, so far so good.

Comments about Brooks Transcend 3 Men's Silver/Orange Popsicle/High Risk Red:

4.5* for now. I recently returned to running, I am older now (55 and Fat 250#) I know I need good cushion and support. Started running in Saucony Guide 9 and the shoe seemed to push my right leg into supination. My calf muscle became strained after two short, and I mean short runs. Couch to 10K walk run intervals. I stuck with the shoe for 4 runs and thought it was becouse of my weight. I do mountain bike and climb some big hills so it is not like I have no strength. I then ran in an older pair of Mizunos and that helped a little. I noticed less strain when wearing cheap puma casuals with no support. Bought these based on reviews of shoes for big guys- pain was gone after one run. The guide rail technology really works- I am now a convert. I used to be a Kayano buyer back when I was a real runner and around 200#'s. This review is premature ( one run) but I had trouble getting good info on the shoe for someone in my situation so I decided to publish this.

              A:

Yes. The Transcend is a great support shoe for low arches and pronation. Depending on your desired fit and feel, the Adrenaline would work as well. These shoes are not as cushioned and have less support but would be great for short distances.
