Lightweight Racing. For runners that favor a shorter stride and midfoot landing, the Mizuno Wave Musha 4 may be the shoe for you thanks to its minimal heel-toe offset.
Upper: Mizuno Airmesh upper provides the utmost in breathability and comfort.
Midsole: Mizuno Wave™ technology combines cushioning and stability—two different elements that are both inherently necessary in great running shoes. SmoothRide engineering minimizes the rapid acceleration and deceleration of the foot during transition, creating the smoothest ride possible. AP+ enhances the inherent properties of the AP midsole by offering increased rebound and a bouncier feeling which extends the cushioning durability and maintaining lightweight performance.
9mm heel to toe offset.
Outsole: X 10™ durable carbon rubber allows for longer wear in high impact areas and supplements traction at heel strike.

Q:
I wear the Wave Rider for half marathons and marathons. How much difference is there in the profile? Want to avoid achilles issues but would like a lighter shoe for racing.Asked on 1/26/2013 by TriGirl1 answer
A:
The Wave Rider has a 24mm heel midsole and a 12mm forefoot midsole (12mm offset). The Musha sits a bit lower with an 18mm heel midsole and a 9mm forefoot midsole (9mm offset). Since the Musha sits a bit lower, there is slightly less cushioning underfoot and a less steep ramp. The Musha is lighter, as well. There is still enough of a ramp that Achilles issues should not be an issue; however, everyone's body is different and it is impossible to say for sure.Answered on 1/31/2013 by Ryan from Holabird Sports
