Comments about ASICS GEL-Neo33 Men Bright Orange/White/Black:
These shoes are the most beautiful things I have ever seen. However, they do not perform like a kayano, adrenaline, or gt 2000. I knew this when I bought them, they are strictly for school use. They are from asics' 33 line of shoes, which are really casual running shoes, like adizeros or airmaxes. They are not high performance running shoes. They have great cushioning thanks to gel and a dual density midsole and great support thanks to duomax. They have great pronation control in the toe off, but not in the heel strike. When it comes down to it they are not all that light. They are the same weight as the kayano 18 and the gt 2170. If you want pretty shoes these are the right choice. If you want better pronation control look at the asics gt 2170 or the Brooks adrenaline.

Comments about ASICS GEL-Neo33 Men Bright Orange/White/Black:
Like an abandoned puppy, these shoes just want to be loved. Unfortunately, that person is not me. I was looking for a nice in-between of a traditonal shoe and a more minimal style. I didn't want to fully commit myself to a minimal shoe without easing in a bit. These shoes from the folks I talked to should have fit the bill. They are minimal in form, have little heel drop, are lighter, and have less cushioning but still provide just enough pronation control. I was sold on these shoes after seeing them (the orange is more neon and super bright--they look awesome. I hate how those who need pronation control have zero options for funky colors) and trying them on in a store. My size wasn't in stock, so I purchased from Holabird who beat competition by 40 bucks. I got the shoes and took them out for their first run, and this is where the affair fell apart. Warming up before the run I had grave concerns. The form of the shoe forced me to heel strike--badly. Where in other shoes I have worn my foot strike is fine, there wasn't really any fixing this for me. I ran an awesome time for a casual runner, but my heels and legs paid the price. Needless to say, I wish there was a more liberal return policy because I would be sending these back for an exchange on a different style. I'm afraid I won't be able to make these work under any circumstance. Before purchasing, I would suggest anyone to try them on first and test them out without removing tags or wearing them outside. I typically try to support local shops, but the prices at Holabird are tough to beat when there is such a difference. I guess I paid in the end. These shoes might work for some, but coming from a Brooks Adrenaline to these for a more minimal shoe---no go. These puppies will have to find love elsewhere.

Q:
Why the three star rating on this retail site?
How does this compare quality to gel cumulus?Asked on 1/10/2013 by Anonymous2 answers
A:
This shoe compares to the quality of the gel comulus.Answered on 1/11/2013 by Community Answer from NoneA:
The star ratings are based on customer reviews. You can view customer reviews and comments at the bottom of each product page. The Cumulus and the Neo33 are relatively similar. Both are primarily targeted towards neutral runners. The Neo33 is designed to be a more flexible shoe that delivers a more minimal, natural running experience.Answered on 1/14/2013 by Ryan from Holabird Sports
