Neutral. Updated with a sleeker profile that maintains the famously plush, yet stable ride, the Nimbus® 14 provides gender specific cushioning for runners ranging from the supinator to the moderate overpronator. Key improvements include a reduction in weight, increased breathability and an all new upper design.
Upper: Biomorphic fit provides superior fit and function while decreasing the potential for irritation by strategically placing stretch material on the upper. P.H.F.® heel collar molds to athletes heel, creating a personalized fit. All stitching has been removed from the heel collar for a better fit with less irritation. 3M Reflective Material enhances visibility during low light hours increasing safety. Padded air mesh tongue maximizes ventilation and comfort. Discrete eyelets are independently placed to disburse lace tension, creating a customized fitting environment and enhanced upper comfort.
Midsole: Forefoot and rearfoot GEL cushioning systems are strategically placed to absorb shock. Impact Guidance System (I.G.S.®) links components to enhance the foot's natural gait from heel strike to toe off. Solyte™ midsole is a lighter material than both ASICS' standard EVA and SpEVA® with improved cushioning and durability. A top layer of injected Solyte® provides a cushioned platform feel in the forefoot. Women's models feature gender specific cushioning with a lower density for improved cushioning and forefoot comfort. Solyte™ 45 Last Construction enhances try-on comfort and long-lasting feel by employing ASICS' new proprietary Soltye™ Midsole Material. Space Trusstic System® creates a space between the Trusstic System® and the midsole, allowing for controlled midsole deformation and more efficient foot function. Removable ComforDry™ insole provides the optimum cushioning performance system that creates a cooler, drier, healthier shoe environment. Guidance Line™ vertical flex groove decouples the tooling along the line of progression for enhanced gait efficiency.
10mm heel to toe offset.
Outsole: AHAR® heel plug, ASICS High Abrasion Resistant rubber, provides increased durability in critical areas of the heel. DuraSponge® is a blown AHAR® rubber compound that enhances cushioning and durability in the forefoot.

Comments about ASICS GEL-Nimbus 14 Limited Edition Men:
Long time fan of the Gel Nimbus. It is my staple shoe and I usually keep 2-3 pairs on hand so I can rotate them to prolong wear and tear. This version is similar to others with it's incredible cushioning but good feel. I noticed the arch back to the heel was slightly tighter but the toe box was still roomy. I tried a half size bigger but my foot swam in the toe box. I wear a 9.5 regular shoe and always buy size 10s in the nimbus. So far after several races and traing I always realize why I don't switch away from them.

Comments about ASICS GEL-Nimbus 14 Limited Edition Men:
I bought 6 pairs (not all the same colour) because it was a great deal for a shoe I know performs well for my training and body.
Great cushioning for road running.

Comments about ASICS GEL-Nimbus 14 Limited Edition Men:
Been a fan of the Nimbus for years and since I have stayed injury free with the Nimbus, I will not change. The 14's are a bit lighter and I bought the Limited Edition yellow. Love the look. Asics still adds the cheap barely padded insole. Please Asics, for the money we expect a above average insole.

Comments about ASICS GEL-Nimbus 14 Limited Edition Men:
Great shoe. My 3rd straight Asics Nimbus and the 14 doesn't disapoint. Feels fast, light weight and comfortable. I run about 3-5 miles at a time on them and with about 60 miles on them so far they still feel brand new.

Comments about ASICS GEL-Nimbus 14 Limited Edition Men:
The Nimbus 14 is an improvement over the 13 with regards to fit & transition. The primary negative, as with most ASICS, is that the crashpad thickness does not adequately cover heel strikers resulting in premature wear while the rest of the sole still has plenty of meat.

Q:
I just recently started running in a new pair of the Nimbus 14 Limited Editions. It has a different feel and ride (firmer) than the regular version of the Nimbus 14's that I have been using for over two months. Has anyone else commented on differences between the two versions? I'm curious if there are any specific material differences between the two.
Thank you.Asked on 11/8/2012 by Mark from Warrenton, Va.2 answers
A:
No, there is no differences in materials used.Answered on 11/8/2012 by Community Answer from NoneA:
There really should be no differences. The Nimbus 14 Limited Edition is the same as the regular Nimbus 14. It is just a limited edition cosmetic. I haven't heard any other comments about the two being different.Answered on 11/9/2012 by Ryan from Holabird Sports
Q:
I purchased a pair of Asics Gel Nimbus 13 and have a question concerning these shoes. I usually run in Mizuno wave riders or Sacony Triumph which are designed for the neutral runner. Is this pair of Nimbus comparible with these two other brands since I have a neutral gait?Asked on 9/6/2012 by Rick from Carlsbad, nm1 answer
A:
Like the Wave Rider and the Triumph, the Nimbus is a neutral shoe. It offers comparable cushioning to the Rider and the Triumph.Answered on 9/10/2012 by Ryan from Holabird Sports
