Mesh upper with synthetic overlays for added support and style. Padded tongue and heel collar for step-in comfort. Discrete eyelets blend right into the style of the upper.
Midsole: Heel and forefoot GEL cushioning absorbs impact. DuoMax® Support System uses dual-density midsole system positioned to enhance support and stability. Solyte® midsole material is a lighter weight midsole compound than standard EVA or SpEVA®. Gender specific Space Trusstic System® midfoot stabilizer creates a pocket between the Trusstic System® device and the midsole for controlled midsole deformation and more efficient foot function. Removable, ComforDry™ sockliner provides cushioning performance and anti-microbial properties for a cooler, drier, healthier environment. Impact Guidance System (I.G.S.®) design philosophy employs linked componentry that enhances the foot’s natural gait from heel strike to toe-off.
Outsole: Guidance Line® vertical flex groove decouples the tooling along the line of progression for enhanced gait efficiency. AHAR® (ASICS High Abrasion Rubber) is placed in critical areas of the outsole for exceptional durability. DuraSponge® outsole component uses a blown AHAR® compound for enhanced cushioning and durability in the forefoot.

Comments about ASICS GT-2170 Lady White/Tahiti/Neon Yellow:
I think this is my 9th pair of Asics and I love them and won't change. I have slightly wider feet for a female and find that Asics is a great width for me. I also can use this shoe for at least 9 months before I need to replace, which wasn't the case for previous shoes lasting only 5-6 months. The laces stay tied, which is important on road runs and races. The colors that Asics selects always remain traditional but trendy.

Comments about ASICS GT-2170 Lady White/Tahiti/Neon Yellow:
for heel strikers eel strikers. I land on the balls of my feet when I run so this is not a good match for me. After running 5 miles the bottom front of my right foothurt for several days. The some has good cushioning in the back and shock absorbers but since I don't us that part of my feet much this is a useless feature for MD that adds unnecessary weight. I have a pair of new balance that I prefer to use for my long runs that do a great job of keeping my feet stable and protected.

Comments about ASICS GT-2170 Lady White/Tahiti/Neon Yellow:
I'm running my first Boston Marathon in these shoes. Love the Asics 2170 line - lightweight but plenty of cushion. Transitioned out of my older pair (300 plus miles) when shins got sore. Broke in these with a short run or two, and was ready for a long run (13 miles) in no time. A great product for people with a near-neutral stride.

Comments about ASICS GT-2170 Lady White/Tahiti/Neon Yellow:
This pair of shoes required no break in period. They were comfortable out of the box. I will definitely consider Asics shoes for other purposes.

Q:
Is this shoe good for walking and cross training?Asked on 3/15/2013 by Gerry from New jersey2 answers
A:
Running shoes actually make great walking shoes. Running shoes actually offer a bit more cushioning than walking shoes because they are designed to absorb heavier ground impacts. Running shoes usually also have more mesh on the upper, allowing them to be more breathable than many walking-specific shoes. Running shoes are not ideal for cross training. It depends upon what kind of cross training you will be doing, but in general running or walking shoes are designed specifically for forward (heel to toe) type motions and lack the lateral (side to side) support needed for cross training activities.Answered on 3/15/2013 by Ryan from Holabird SportsA:
This shoe is definitely good for walking and cross country. Although due to the cushioning more to the rear instead of the front of the shoe. Some reviewers complain about the frontal part of the shoe. In any case, overall this seems to be a good shoe for running and walking.Answered on 3/17/2013 by Community Answer from None
