Neutral. The Wave® Rider ™ 15 returns to the fit, feel and high performance ride the series is renowned for.

Upper: AIRMesh™ with synthetic overlays for support provides the utmost in breathability and comfort of the upper. Dynamotion Fit™ relieves the stress the foot naturally places on footwear and eliminates distortion in the collar and heel during the gait cycle for a perfect fit.

Midsole: The Mizuno Wave® is a leading footwear technology that combines cushioning and stability, two distinctly different elements that are both inherently necessary in great running shoes. Gender specific engineering is a philosophy to maximize performance by tailoring footwear to the separate needs of men and women. Women's gender specific engineering provides a Flex lines in the heel and forefoot. The Mizuno Wave™ is SmoothRide™ Engineered. This SmoothRide™ Engineering approach is used to minimize the rapid acceleration and deceleration of the foot during transition, creating the smoothest ride possible. AP+ enhances the inherent properties of the AP midsole, offering increased rebound and a "bouncier" feeling, which extends the cushion durability, while maintaining the light weight performance. VS-1 Shock-absorbing cushioning compound is found in the heel to absorb the forces from heel strike. The Mizuno Intercool Full-length midsole ventilation system reduces heat and humidity build-up inside the shoe. A removable sockliner provides a responsive first feel.

24mm heel height, 12mm forefoot height.

Outsole: X-10™ featured in this shoe is the most durable carbon rubber that allows for longer wear in high impact areas and supplements traction at heel strike. SmoothRide Engineered, a solid rubber forefoot outsole design for durability and cushioning, now with flex controllers built to optimize flexibility.

Gender Engineering: The Wave® Rider™ 15 addresses the fundamental differences between the way men and women run. Through extensive research, Mizuno has learned that creating shoes that fit closer to these specific running styles, performance is maximized.

Women have a wider pelvis than men causing them to pronate more when their feet land. Additionally, less muscle mass and softer connective tissue in women increases the speed at which the ankle rolls inward. By making their shoes more flexible with more pronounced flex grooves and the outside heel more rounded, Mizuno produced a softer landing, slowing the inward roll of the ankle, producing a more desired result for female runners.

Shoefitr uses 3D scanners to collect a shoe's internal measurements.

The measurements of your current shoe are compared to the one you want...

...and Shoefitr recomments the best fit.

Comments about Mizuno Wave Rider 15 Lady Lemon/Dark Shadow/Aquarius:

These are fast and light shoes. Unfortunately, Mizunos are too narrow for my feet, so I'm going to stick with Brooks for now. I had ordered 2 pairs of these shoes and am returning the unused pair. If you don't need a wide toe box like I do, try these out.

Comments about Mizuno Wave Rider 15 Lady Lemon/Dark Shadow/Aquarius:

I bought this for running and I hadn't bought a
mizuno in a couple of years. I was very disappointed in the shoe. I have big blisters on
my heels after only three times wearing the shoe.
My winter home is in Florida where the shoe was
sent and I am now back in Pa. I have lost some of
the material that came with the shoe and I would
love to return the shoe for something else. I hope you can help me with this.

Love these shoes. They fit me perfectly. Love the fact that the heel is sung but still has ample room in the toe box. Bought 3 pairs to add to the 2 I already have so I can enjoy my runs for the next 2 years.

These are great looking shoes. I usually wear a 8 1/2 B -- these feel 1/2 size too small and are a narrow fit (I have wider feet). With that being said, they are great shoes. Gave them to my daughter and she LOVES them (her foot is narrower than mine). The colour is great... bright...

Mizuno is my shoe of choice for outdoor running. I like the lightweight mesh material the shoes are made of and the consistant fit. I can buy these shoes without trying them on after just one initial fitting.

I have this shoe in the purple & I love the only draw back is that it is heavy, do you have the same shoe but not as heavy? I am training for the Chicago Marathon & I LOVE Mizuno as I know they are very comfy and good to my feet, any suggestions would be appreciated. I have tried other shoes but now I will stick with what I know, I also have plantar fasciitis & this helps with that. any help would be appreciated. This is my 1st full marathon, I have done many 1/2's and want to make sure that my feet are OK

              Thank you

                A:

Mizuno offers plenty of lighter-weight shoes, but the Wave Rider 15 itself is not available in a lighter version. In general, the heaviest parts of a shoe are the cushioning and support features, so lighter shoes often have less cushioning and less support. If you have had success and like the Wave Rider, I would encourage you to stick with it, especially as you lead up to your marathon. When people find a shoe that works for them we are always hesitant to make a change, especially when dealing with an issue such as plantar fasciitis.
