Women have a wider pelvis than men causing them to pronate more when their feet land. Additionally, less muscle mass and softer connective tissue in women increases the speed at which the ankle rolls inward. By making their shoes more flexible with more pronounced flex grooves and the outside heel more rounded, Mizuno produced a softer landing, slowing the inward roll of the ankle, producing a more desired result for female runners.

Comments about Mizuno Wave Rider 15 Lady Lemon/Dark Shadow/Aquarius:
These are fast and light shoes. Unfortunately, Mizunos are too narrow for my feet, so I'm going to stick with Brooks for now. I had ordered 2 pairs of these shoes and am returning the unused pair. If you don't need a wide toe box like I do, try these out.

Comments about Mizuno Wave Rider 15 Lady Lemon/Dark Shadow/Aquarius:
I bought this for running and I hadn't bought a
mizuno in a couple of years. I was very disappointed in the shoe. I have big blisters on
my heels after only three times wearing the shoe.
My winter home is in Florida where the shoe was
sent and I am now back in Pa. I have lost some of
the material that came with the shoe and I would
love to return the shoe for something else. I hope you can help me with this.

Comments about Mizuno Wave Rider 15 Lady Lemon/Dark Shadow/Aquarius:
Love these shoes. They fit me perfectly. Love the fact that the heel is sung but still has ample room in the toe box. Bought 3 pairs to add to the 2 I already have so I can enjoy my runs for the next 2 years.

Comments about Mizuno Wave Rider 15 Lady Lemon/Dark Shadow/Aquarius:
These are great looking shoes. I usually wear a 8 1/2 B -- these feel 1/2 size too small and are a narrow fit (I have wider feet). With that being said, they are great shoes. Gave them to my daughter and she LOVES them (her foot is narrower than mine). The colour is great... bright...

Comments about Mizuno Wave Rider 15 Lady Lemon/Dark Shadow/Aquarius:
Mizuno is my shoe of choice for outdoor running. I like the lightweight mesh material the shoes are made of and the consistant fit. I can buy these shoes without trying them on after just one initial fitting.

Q:
I have this shoe in the purple & I love the only draw back is that it is heavy, do you have the same shoe but not as heavy? I am training for the Chicago Marathon & I LOVE Mizuno as I know they are very comfy and good to my feet, any suggestions would be appreciated. I have tried other shoes but now I will stick with what I know, I also have plantar fasciitis & this helps with that. any help would be appreciated. This is my 1st full marathon, I have done many 1/2's and want to make sure that my feet are OK
Thank youAsked on 2/9/2013 by Lisa from Chicago1 answer
A:
Mizuno offers plenty of lighter-weight shoes, but the Wave Rider 15 itself is not available in a lighter version. In general, the heaviest parts of a shoe are the cushioning and support features, so lighter shoes often have less cushioning and less support. If you have had success and like the Wave Rider, I would encourage you to stick with it, especially as you lead up to your marathon. When people find a shoe that works for them we are always hesitant to make a change, especially when dealing with an issue such as plantar fasciitis.Answered on 2/11/2013 by Ryan from Holabird Sports
