Comments about New Balance 1540 BK Men:
These shoes are very comfortable. I am having a problem similar to plantar faciatis and these shoes have given me much relief compared to others I have tried. Highly recommend if you have similar foot issues.
I normally wear a D width. Had to exchange these for EE Width.

Comments about New Balance 1540 BK Men:
The 1540 supposedly replaced the 1123, which was my dream shoe, the perfect motion control shoe, and I owned several pairs over many years. However, the 1540 bares no resemblance in terms of comfort and performance to the 1123. The 1123 was an MC; the 1540 appears to be an MC+. It'a so stiff I use it for cycling and the stair master. What was New Balance thinking? Their rating went from an A to F!

Comments about New Balance 1540 BK Men:
Had to buy a shoe for work due to previous joint replacement in big toe. After 10 years replacement needs to come out and must restrict movement of big toe. Shoe does help but a little to stiff for the rest of my foot.

Like its predessors before, this shoe works well for me. Have been buying this model through 4 generations of New Balance shoes and they have been exemplary. I can count on them performing for me.

Q:
how does this compare with brooks beastAsked on 3/3/2013 by mike from omaha , ne2 answers
A:
The New Balance 1540 is designated as a motion control shoe and is in the same category as the Brooks Beast. The fit is slightly larger than the Beast and the 1540 has support features on the medial (inside) and lateral (outside) of the foot. If you have severely overpronate, the 1540 is definitely worth checking out.Answered on 3/4/2013 by Ryan from Holabird SportsA:
These shoes compare very favorably with the Brooks Beast. Both are designed for runners with low arches and who have a tendency to severely over-pronate.Answered on 3/4/2013 by Community Answer from None
