product details
The New Balance 587 is one of the few running shoes that has a TPU post on both the medial and lateral side to provide both pronation and supination control. The straight cut of the last provides a stable, wide base that makes it perfect for heavier framed runners who overpronate or supinate pretty severely. The 587 is available in multiple widths so you can get a comfortable fit no matter what shape your foot is.
Proudly made in the USA.
Upper: Synthetic/mesh upper provides lightweight comfort and support.
Midsole: TPU medial & lateral post provides pronation and supination control. Abzorb in the heel and forefoot provides maximum shock absorption. Graphite Roll Bar aids a smooth gait cycle while maximizing rearfoot stability.
Outsole: Solid rubber outsole provides long-wearing durability.
Available in widths D (Medium), EE (Wide), or 4E (Extra Wide).
Style #: M587NV
Color : Navy Blue/Silver/White

Comments about New Balance 587 NV Men:
I run 30-40 miles a week in training for marathons and ultras. All those miles in these shoes. My feet are wide and the podiatrist prescribed custom orthotics which fit perfectly. My arches are low and I tend to be heavy for a runner (175 pounds) so I need all the help and support I can get. It doesn't get any better than New Balance 587 for me.
I've been wearing this model since they were 585s (around 1996). To New Balance's considerable credit, the few tweaks that have been made since then have been very minor.
Of course these shoes are heavy and clunky and look like orthopaedic appliances. None of that matters if you need them. There's nothing better.
I get 250 miles out of a pair. Much more than that and my quads start to ache after every run.
