Designed with an amazingly light ride and high performance feel, New Balance 890v4 running shoes put more spring in every step. You’ll notice the name Barringer featured at the back on the lateral side, paying tribute to American middle distance runner and steeplechaser Jennifer Barringer Simpson. The new PL-8 Last provides additional assistance in the transition from midfoot to forefoot. Ideal for neutral runners that want more cushion in a lightweight shoe.

Upper: No-sew overlays in optimal areas. FantomFit provides ultra-light support and fit. Padded tongue and heel collar enhance instep comfort. Mesh provides breathable flexibility. Flat laces reduce irritation and pressure points.

Midsole: PL-8 last. Innovative REVlite midsole provides premium responsiveness and durability at a 30% lighter weight than other foams with comparable performance. ABZORB® crash pad cradles the heel area medially and laterally for additional stability. Removable insole.

Outsole: Blown rubber outsole. Unique podular structure maintains notion of full ground contact geometries.

  • About New Balance
New Balance has grown to be one of the largest manufacturers of running shoes and they've done this without expensive advertising campaigns. New Balance knows that there is no better press than positive word-of-mouth. New Balance began as an arch support company, but in 1960, they designed the first running shoe with a ripple sole and the first running shoe that came in varying widths. It didn't take long before New Balance running shoes were used by college track teams all over the country. Today, New Balance makes their shoes available in more widths than almost any other company and that means that there's a New Balance that can fit nearly any foot. Although they started by making running shoes, New Balance tennis shoes are an industry staple and are loved by recreational and serious players. New Balance also makes fine running and tennis apparel, as well as a variety of socks and other sporting accessories.
