Stability. The Saucony PowerGrid Hurricane 14 is just as stable as ever and now has a softer feel thanks to PowerGrid cushioning technology.
Upper: Sauc-Fit upper uses a unique system that locks the midfoot onto the platform and keeps the heel secure and comfortable. Breathable mesh upper with lightweight synthetic overlays. Padded tongue and heel collar for step-in comfort.
Midsole: PowerGrid™ technology fuses Saucony’s innovative PowerFoam™ material with Grid technology, providing the runner with superior cushioning and responsiveness on every run. Impact Interface system cushions and isolates heel impacts. SRC Impact Zone compound provides shock attenuation and sets up the foot for a smooth transition. A medial post slows the foot’s rate of pronation for a safe, comfortable ride. Comfortride™ sockliner uses open-cell foam, is antimicrobial and provides superior cushioning and ride. HRC+ Strobel Board provides an additional 1.5mm of EVA in the strobel board to enhance step-in comfort for an incredibly plush ride.
12mm heel height, 4mm forefoot height.
Outsole: IBR+ injection blown rubber compound is lighter and more responsive while offering better cushioning and durability. XT-900 carbon rubber outsole material offers exceptional traction with sacrificing durability.

June 2012
"When a shoe has been around long enough to boast a double digit version, any updates are usually minor tweaks. Naturally, you don't want to turn away the faithful. But Saucony boldly overhauled the Hurricane. The 14 is 1.2 ounces lighter than its predecessor, is more flexible, offers more cushioning, and is most stable. And Saucony lowered the heel-to-toe drop to 9.2mm, down from 11.4mm. Such dramatic changes could have gone horribly wrong, but Saucony came out with a winner, and wear testers loved the update. "

Comments about Saucony Hurricane 14 Men White/Silver/Blue:
I am a hiker/walker because my knees are worn out. But these are very comfortable shoes and I use them all the time. My wife has had three knee operations and swears by the women's version. My son is a good runner, and will "run the heck out of them." Very good shoes.
