Fall 2012
"A Best Buy pick that tops $100? If you're shopping for new shoes, you know they're getting more expensive. But the Ride 5 is indicative of a trend we're seeing: The shoe is $10 more expensive and is a full two ounces lighter than its predecessor. That weight savings is largely a product of using less foam in the midsole and a reduction in the rubber on the outsole, which also makes this update lower to the ground and more flexible. The changes resonated with testers, who rated it the highest of any shoe in this guide for comfort, cushioning, and ride. So, despite the price hike, it's worth the splurge."

Comments about Saucony Ride 5 Lady ViZiPROPink/Blue/Yellow:
I was worried the toe box would be too narrow for my wide foot, but I have just enough room for the ball of my foot not to feel squeezed. I have run in the earlier models of this shoe, and this is by far my favorite so far. I enjoyed the Cortana, but wore holes in the toe box due to my foot width. This shoe is much more durable, while still provides a lightweight ride. I also ordered the Progrid Ride in the Wide width(this color isn't available in Wide). I find the Wide is a better walking shoe, in that it feels heavier than this shoe? My foot has plenty of room to move around in the Wide version, but I don't like the color as much. I try to wear both interchangeably, but feel I get a much better run with the B width shoe.
