Comments about Saucony Stabil CS 2 Men White/Silver/Royal:
I was once told by an old doctor, "You have the flattest feet I've ever seen in my life," during a visit after a severely-rolled, sports-related ankle sprain. Suffice it to say, I've had foot problems and pains all my life and can say with confidence, the ProGrid Stabil is the most comfortable shoe I've owned in the past 30 years.
I've stayed away from a consistent running regimen most my life due to inevitable foot pains and being unable to find the right shoe. Years ago I even tried a pair of Saucony brand and thought they felt uncomfortably narrow and tight, like shoes fit for petite women or spry wood elves, neither of which fit my 5'11" 185 lbs make up.
A recently renewed interest in walking then light jogging for stress relief had me once again exploring shoe options and I chanced on trying Saucony again due to their lasting reputation; this time, however, I opted for their overpronation-specific shoe, a half size bigger than my normal shoe size, and EE (wide) -- the result is near perfection!
The ProGrid Stabil has terrific arch support and alleviates a great majority of foot pain that normally bothers me when on my feet for any amount of time, let alone running at a near sprint. Definitely the lightest, most-comfortable and breathable shoe I've owned, I'm even planning to buy another "non-workout" pair just for everyday comfort.
If you've got severely flat feet and foot pains as a result, I cannot say enough great things about this shoe. Just be sure you get the proper size; a half shoe size and wide v. regular does make a huge difference.

Q:
how does the Saucony ProGrid Stabil CS 2 shoe compare in motion control to the New Balance 1012MCAsked on 10/15/2012 by Glenn from Bangor, Maine2 answers
A:
As a competitive runner who has worn both shoes, I'd say they're comparable. The New Balance 1012MC is a bit more shoe with a slightly thicker midsole where the Saucony Stabil CS 2 is a little less. While they're both supportive and comfy, I think the Saucony is more flexible and responsive. The shoe you go with depends on how big/heavy you are, and what your running activity is, and what kind of feel you want.Answered on 11/12/2012 by RJD from Denver, COA:
The Saucony Stabil CS 2 and the New Balance 1012 both offer comparable levels of support and cushioning. Both are appropriate for feet with severe overpronation.Answered on 10/15/2012 by Ryan from Holabird Sports
