So far the gps seems accurate and does not lose the signal even through thickly wooded areas. Does exactly what I wanted and does not seem too big or cumbersome. Only possible drawback is battery will not charge to 100% and seems short-lived.

Q:
Can I also charge battery by using wall electrical outlet if I have the connection to fit it? I know it comes with only plug for the computer but would it hurt it to use a wall charge?

  Yes, you can charge the battery using a wall outlet if you have an adapter. It will not damage the unit.

  The Timex Marathon GPS does not have heart rate capability. It only measures speed and distance based on GPS.

Does the watch have a fabric or a plastic band. If a plastic band, can it be changed out to a nylon quick-wrap band like the expeditions have?

  This watch has a plastic band. The band on these Marathon GPS units is integrated with the watch and cannot be changed; however, Timex may be able to repair or replace it if it gets damaged.
