June 2012
"When a shoe has been around long enough to boast a double digit version, any updates are usually minor tweaks. Naturally, you don't want to turn away the faithful. But Saucony boldly overhauled the Hurricane. The 14 is 1.2 ounces lighter than its predecessor, is more flexible, offers more cushioning, and is most stable. And Saucony lowered the heel-to-toe drop to 9.2mm, down from 11.4mm. Such dramatic changes could have gone horribly wrong, but Saucony came out with a winner, and wear testers loved the update. "

I have had these shoes before and I keep going back to these. Good support and I love how they look. A lot of support shoes look chunky.

Comments about Saucony Hurricane 14 Lady Black/Purple:
I walk 3-5 miles with this shoe and wear them around the house. I've bought Saucony Hurricane's for the last three years and I'm very disappointed with the lack of arch support with the 14's. I can only wear them for a very short time before they start hurting my feet.
I consider the shoe lightweight and very breathable.

Comments about Saucony Hurricane 14 Lady Black/Purple:
I have multiple pair of the Saucony Hurricane running shoes which I rotate through each week. I have been running in them for the past few years and love them. They have come out with some pretty fun colors in recent years and really enjoy the black/purple on these.

Comments about Saucony Hurricane 14 Lady Black/Purple:
I have never written a shoe review before, but I felt compelled to comment on this new version of the Hurricane. Having been a Hurricane wearer for more than 15+ years and Saucony wearer for longer, I was skeptical about Saucony getting away from their traditional stability of the Hurricane. Personally, I have loved a little weight to my shoes even though I am a light runner, I like the stability it provides. Most show nowadays have gotten less than 10oz and some even less than 9 oz. So, I was tentative to buy these new Hurricane becuase the 13 wasn't a great improvement to me... I was scrounging to find 12's (which I had more than 8-10 pair of) and only 1 pair of the 13's. This new version of the Hurricane was surprisingly awesome. It was not too light and not too heavy and SUPER comfortable on a 6 mile run right out of the box. I was so skeptical about this shoe that I was overjoyed to find that it was really a great update to the traditional Hurricane, staying true ot the Saucony 'feel' but with enough of a modern/new technology twist to keep it competitive with all the crazy new shoes that are being introduced to the market. I really love this shoe and if you want to venture into new technology but were skeptical like I was, this is a great pair to give it a go. Good Luck!
