        Needs more heel cushioning

        By SteveH

        from Philadelphia, PA

        Pros

        • Front To Back Stability
        • Good ankle support
        • Grippy
        • Side to side stability

        Cons

        • Cheap Sock Liner
        • Hot Poor Ventilation
        • Not Enough Heel Cushionin

        Best Uses

        • Hard Courts

As a heavier player with a wide foot, the T22 Mids fit well and were not tight at all. Coming from Nike Air models, there is a significant different in the lack of heel cushioning in the T22's. I was able to bottom out the shoe several times on stab volleys, running groundstrokes - very jarring heel bone strikes. I eventually put a Sorbothane Heel cushion in to provide more heel cushioning.
Side to side stability is great, front to back - very little foot slippage. Great traction on hard and clay courts.

        good for women

Midcut tennis shoes for women have become virtually impossible to find, so I tried these. I've worn them 3 times, and I've found them to be very comfortable. I did insert some old arch supports. Also, I've tried men's tennis shoes in the past, and they were very heavy, but these are not. They also shipped with 2 sets of laces--one set of black and one set of white. I love the black ones, because the white ones get dingy from lacing up the shoes with sunscreen on my hands.

          Changed for the worst

          By strman

          from coastal carolina

          Pros

          • Look good

          Cons

          • Make My Feet Hurt
          • Poor stability

          • For Work Maybe

Apparrently the T22 has changed because I went through four pairs of these and really liked them. Then on my last pair, I immediately noticed my feet were really hurting after playing matches in them. I did the bend test and sure enough, this latest model bends at the heel instead of at the toe where it is supposed to. My older t22s still bend at the toe even though they are well worn and played many matches.
I won't buy them again and am pretty disgusted that we have such a limited choice of mid cut tennis shoes.

Prince T22 Mid Men's Tennis Shoe

          By Jim

          from Oceanside, CA

          Pros

            Cons

              Best Uses

The new Prince T@@ Mid Men's Tennis Shoe is a poor replacement for the Viper VI Mid Tennis Shoe that has served me so well for many years. Gone is the roomy toe box and the excellent fit (no break-in period)that prevented any tripping and rollover and the classic design that I had come to expect from the Viper. The T22 is sized improperly and is approx. 1/2' to 1" too small, and I was turned off by smaller toe box and the cloth web inserts over the toe box and the plastic side supports which look cheap. Bring back the Viper VI mid tennis shoe!

I absolutely love the prince t22 shoe.I use it for tennis and Platform tennis. Comfortable, stable, durable.I buy 2 pair a year.
However this mid size version is a bomb. I bought them for ankle stability on the platform tennis court. If you tie them tight enough to stop foot movement in the shoe your foot circulation is cut off resulting in painful cramping.
Great concept but bad execution of design or construction,
Terrible/terrible/terrible---i would like to return them but have worn them 3 times!!! Use them to muck out the horse stall or do not tie them to look ccool but ng on a tennis or platform court. DISAPPOINTED is an understatement.
