18/8 Stainless Steel: At Hydro Flask®, all of our bottles are manufactured using 18/8 "food grade" stainless steel. 18/8 stainless steel is the preferred material wherever food or beverages are concerned because it does not affect flavor, either by adding any metallic taste of its own, or by retaining any flavor from the previous foodstuffs with which it came into contact. 18/8 stainless steel has a non-porous surface that inhibits the growth of bacteria. Bacteria, which are the cause of odors, like to cling to porous surfaces where they can thrive. At the first sign of soapy water, any bacteria that have dried onto the surface of 18/8 stainless steel are swept cleanly away. BPA Free: Every Hydro Flask® product is 100% BPA-free. Hydro Flask® bottles are constructed from uncoated 18/8 stainless steel, so there is no danger of a liner getting scratched and releasing the toxic chemical BPA into your beverage. Consequently, your Hydro Flask bottle can keep hot liquids hot without the leaching chemicals that may occur with plastic bottles and aluminum bottles.

Out of the box it leaked from the top. I figure Hydro Flask must be having issues with this because when I returned it for an exchange Holabird gave me a refund. I would not recommend buying this product.

I carry the Hydro Flask instead of three bottles of water. The contents stays cold longer than advertised and it is not cumbersome like three or four bottles always are. The flask does not "sweat". Just lay the bottle on the seat and go. I also carry at least one additional Hydro Flask, usually the 40 oz. just in case I get hung up on the job. This is a great product and I have been asked about mine so often that I feel like a salesman for the company.

Great product but needs a handle cap similiar to 40 oz and/or a sports type top so you don't have to unscrew the cap.

Specific data isn’t available to answer this question. What we can tell you is that we put ice water into this flask at the overnight night and the next morning it still had ice in it The office was 71 degrees.
Hydro Flask indicate that since the wide mouth bottles have a larger surface area of cap, they stay hot about 8-9 hours and cold up to 24 hours; the time is a little less compared to the 12 hours hot, 24 hours cold of the standard and narrow mouth bottles.Answered on 2/29/2012 by Kathe from Holabird Sports
