Comments about Soleus GPS 2.0 Sport Watch Black/White:
As a pure GPS watch the Soleus GPS 2.0 works very well. It can usually lock to the satellites in 2-4 minutes, normally under 3 minutes. However it does work best if you are not running while it tries to lock.
I've ran 5 miles on the track and it comes with a few hundredths of the correct distance. Had the watch for about 6 months now and it is still working fine. Battery life when using the GPS is about 7 hours (you are not likely to run out while running, but long hikes you may). It takes quite a while to charge back to 100% but can quickly charge to 60%.
Main weakness is the software. No Mac support which is a big bummer. The PC Soleus software is very weak compared to Garmin. You can upload to MapMyRun but it's somewhat of a hassle. If I were on the market for this type of watch I would get the Garmin FR10 instead since Garmin's software and integration with external websites is much better. Really - if the software was much better and supported Macs this would be a much better purchase.
Soleus support has been pretty decent about answering questions and fixing one serious bug I found in the software.
It's a bit bulky, about twice the thickness of non-GPS watches, but not so much that it's noticeable when running.

Comments about Soleus GPS 2.0 Sport Watch Black/White:
Okay, this is my first gps watch. After looking at several gps watches, I thought the Soleus 2.0, because its lower cost, had what I wanted in a gps watch. Again, I can't compare to another gps watch since this is my first. I've been using for two months as of May.
Likes: Comfortable, gives pace display, easy to use, satellite signal in appx. 30 seconds, no problem with low battery ( I charge after every run, no problems with data download.
Dislikes: The current pace output lags behind your actual pace (takes way to much time to catch up with actual pace). Running intervals can be frustrating because of lag (not sure if this typical for all gps watches?), downloaded run data should have comment section.
Because I don't like the lag in current pace, especially during interval training, I wouldn't buy this watch again.

Q:
Does this actually check your heart rate as well?Asked on 5/24/2012 by Anonymous2 answers
A:
No, it does not check your heart rate, it tracks your distance, speed, pace and calories burned.Answered on 5/24/2012 by Community Answer from NoneA:
The Soleus GPS 2.0 does not have heart rate functionality. You would need to get the Soleus GPS 3.0 Heart Rate Monitor, which can be viewed here: http://www.holabirdsports.com/soleus-gps-30-heart-rate-monitor-blacksol.htmlAnswered on 5/25/2012 by Ryan from Holabird Sports
