Micro Cellular Technology: Neither pressurized nor permanent pressure™, Tretorn's micro cellular technology is patented worldwide and recognized by the ITF as the pioneer of a new category of tennis ball. The result is a highly playable tennis ball that does not lose performance over time.

A conventional pressurized ball flattens on the stringbed as it is hit and resistance is provided by the compressed air within the ball. A small amount of air escapes each time the ball is struck, reducing air pressure and performance. With this new category of ball, 700 million air-filled micro cells take the place of compressed air. These cells cannot escape through the ball's rubber core, resulting in a ball that never loses its bounce.

The rubber core, made of titanium and polybutadiene, has a softer feel than permanent pressure balls, enhancing spin. Surfaced with Tretorn's exclusive Flex-Felt™, which is specially designed from wool and polyester fibers, the Micro X offers unsurpassed feel, playability ad wear-resistance.

Comments about Tretorn Micro-X 2 Tone Bag of 72:

I am a retired high school tennis coach. I still teach tennis and have found these balls to be very economical. They perform like compression balls, but they last much longer. We live in a small town and I teach on public courts. Thus, I really like the two-toned balls as they're easily identified when they go onto the nearby courts where there are other players playing.

Comments about Tretorn Micro-X 2 Tone Bag of 72:

We bought these balls because we're tired of balls going dead every few weeks. I do a lot of coaching and dead balls are a big issue. These are advertised as ultra durable so we figured we'd give them a try. They have pros and cons though.
Pro: Extremely durable. No sign of losing bounce or fuzz.
Cons: Really heavy and hard on the arm if you're someone who already has some arm issues. We live at 5500 ft elevation so the heavy nature of these balls actually makes them feel like high altitude balls except they keep their bounce.

Okay, that's it. If you go through a lot of balls, don't have any arm issues and want to try something that'll last a long time -- go for it.

Comments about Tretorn Micro-X 2 Tone Bag of 72:

These are excellent for clinics and practice matches, and they last at least 6 months. The balls don't get mixed up with anyone else's balls, and you can count on a consistent bounce for teaching. The initial bounce is not as lively as that of traditional balls, but the bounce after a week is much better than week-old traditional balls. Importantly, one does not throw away lots of plastic cans or balls when choosing this product.
