Comments about Edwards Replacement Tennis Net Headband:

I personally paid for this for a public court, so price was important. I suspect all the rivets are expensive to install. It isn't as hefty as the original so we'll have to see how it wears vs. the price. Looks good. Online customer tip to remove fabric punchouts before going to the court was valuable.

Comments about Edwards Replacement Tennis Net Headband:

Pros: As support staff said, I did NOT have to remvoe the old headband ... that would have been a pain. The product wrapped over the old one and grommets lined-up under the old one.
Cons: grommet holes were still filled, so I had to punch them all out before taking out to court, or I would have had to clean-up hundreds of little white vinyl holes. I thought the product was too long (at 45 ft), in that it was supposed to be mounted to the net posts; I folded 3 ft at one end and tucked underneath. Also, the stringing process takes a while ... it helps to have two people; the second person taking-up the slack as the ohter threads through the holes.

        • Q:

I understand the part about securing both ends of the replacement headband to the net posts, but where do I secure the remainder of the lacing rope when I have finished weaving starting from the second eyelet?

            A:

When you're done weaving you can just tie the cord off just about anyway you'd like so long as it is secure and doesn't leave a lot of slack for the headband to come loose. Then we would recommend trimming off any excess so that that there's not a long piece of lacing string hanging down the net for someone to trip on.

            A:

Start by laying the new headband over the existing headband. Secure the ends of the headband to the net posts with two pieces of the cord through the first eyelets on each side. With the rest of the cord, lace the headband to the net, making sure to pull the cord tightly as you go so that the headband is held securely to the net.

You don't have to remove the old headband because this one will fit right over the previous headband.
