  • Q:

Can this shoe be used for basketball? I've noticed that some low top tennis shoes are now being worn on the basketball court.

      A:

Like basketball, tennis requires many side-to-side movements so these shoes should provide plenty of lateral support. The biggest difference may be the outsole. Since tennis shoes are designed to withstand the abrasion of hard tennis courts, you may notice that the outsole is stiffer than the outsole on basketball shoes. These tennis shoes are also not designed for use on the wooden floors of indoor basketball courts so you may have some trouble maintaining traction.

  • About Nike
Nike sportswear has become synonymous with cutting-edge sports performance. Famous for both their advertising and amazing sports equipment, Nike makes gear for almost every sport: running shoes, running clothes, tennis shoes, tennis clothes, athletic wear, and training gear. Recently, Nike and Apple even teamed up to create a new system for monitoring and improving performance. Called Nike+, the system uses a chip placed in Nike running shoes for men and women. The chip then communicates with your iPod to display real-time statistics about your workout! But the Nike revolution doesn't end with men's and women's Nike running shoes—that's just the beginning. Nike tennis shoes and tennis apparel are worn by some of the best tennis players that history has ever known, including career Grand Slam winners Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer. They are the ultimate in comfort and stability, and are designed to provide fantastic support and superior traction for any surface. You'll also be impressed by the fine selection of stylish and colorful models as well as the affordable prices. Nike has been pushing boundaries and striving for excellence since day one.
