Speedport Tuning System: Fine-tune the feel of your racquet with the Speedport Tuning System (STS) - an exclusive Prince innovation which allows players to match the sound and feel of the racquet to their playing style and preference. This system allows customization of the port inserts in the frame at 3, 9, and 12 o'clock positions. Every O³ Speedport Black comes with two sets of grommet inserts, a string port insert and a string hole insert. Choose the String Port Insert for a softer feel with improved string damping. Or, for a firmer feel with increased string feedback, choose the String Hole Insert. The String Port insert is installed from the factory and can be switched during stringing and does not alter the specs of the racquet.

O³ Technology: Prince has once again revolutionized the art of racquet design with the launch of the O³, a breakthrough in racquet engineering that allows you to hit your best shots more often.

By replacing the traditional pin-sized string holes with giant Speedports that provide total string freedom of movement the sweetspot size is increased up to 59%, which means you hit your best shots more often. What's truly impressive is that Prince did it all without enlarging the racquet head, increasing its length, or adding weight. So it's easy to maneuver and quicker through the air.

      • Q:

What is the difference between a "string hole insert" and a "string port insert"? What factors should be considered in deciding which to specifiy when ordering the racket? Thank you.

        • A:

The main difference between the string hole insert and the string port insert is that a racquet with a string port insert allows for more movement of the racquet's strings. The movement allows for a more dampened feel to the racquet that some players find preferable. The flip side to that is the string hole insert is a more traditional set up that allows for a better response from the strings.

          A:

The port insert allows the strings to move freely while the hole insert functions more like a traditional grommet. In the end, the biggest difference is in the feel of the racquet. The port insert will provide a softer feel with greater sensation while the hole insert will create a more traditional feel.

      • About Prince
Prince tennis racquets have always been revolutionary; in fact, they made the very first oversized racquet. Today, Prince racquets can be found in the hands of pros—like David Ferrer and Gael Monfils—and recreational players alike. Overall, Prince tennis racquets are known for increased ball control and stability and a significant reduction of frame vibration, making them perfect for any player type. But Prince doesn't just make tennis racquets. They also make fine tennis shoes, tennis apparel, grips, strings, squash racquets, and squash eyeguards.
