Cortex Active Technology: Every time a racquet hits a ball, it generates thousands of vibrations, hundreds of which cause discomfort, while others help players get a better feel for the ball. Since each player has different needs, Babolat has designed a system with three new types of dampeners to enable all types of players to find just the right amount and kinds of sensations to suit their specific style and preferences.

Cortex Expert: Pure sensations. A CDS (Cortex Dampening System) interface transmits useful information to the player and the new handle design brings that information closer to the player's hand for perfect control on every hit.

Woofer System: The Woofer system is the first technology to enable the frame and strings to interact each and every time a players hits a ball. Woofer provides 25% longer ball-string contact time for greater precision and more sensations.

Aero Modular: New modular frame concept, creates maximum penetration of the racquet through the air and increases the hitting power. Perfect control for directional hitting.

GT Technology: GT innovative technology combines crossed layers of graphite and thin threads of tungsten integrated into the racquet's lay up. Tungsten is a high-tech fiber used in the aerospace industry, highly valued for its toughness and tensile strength properties. Graphite tungsten innovative technology provides maximum torsional stability on the headsize for enhanced control, and energy restoration in the yoke for additional power.

Comments about Babolat AeroPro Drive GT 2013:

I purchased the Babolat AeroPro Drive racquet as gift to a senior in high school, on the mens tennis team. As a former tennis coach, I was looking for a racquet to match the speed and agility of the player. This racquet has exceeded my expectations!

With the racquets maneuverability his net game has improved. It has given his serve more power and spin as well.

Comments about Babolat AeroPro Drive GT 2013:

I use this racquet every time I play tennis. I play on average, 5-6 hours a week. It's very dependable and consistent. This racquet has great precision allowing you to really cut the base and sidelines. I also like the volleys up at net, as the racquet is very versatile. Over all, it's ability to handle all situations makes this racquet a beast.

WHAT KIND OF STRING FOR THIS RACQUET?I AM A 4.0

          A:

Ultimately your choice of string and tension comes down to personal preference, so it's tough to make a very general recommendation. If you are a frequent string breaker, you might want to try a durable string like Babolat Pro Hurricane. If you don't break strings often, or if you suffer from arm pain, you might want to try a softer, more playable string like Babolat Addiction.

      • Q:

When it says new handle design, what exactly has changed? Is that something I can see if I take off butt cap? Would it look different than a 2012 model? Thanks JImmy

          A:

The biggest change between the previous version of the AeroPro Drive GT and the AeroPro Drive GT 2013 is the redesign of the Cortex Dampening System. Placed just above the handle at the throat, the system filters out unwanted vibrations for a better feel. In any case, we would not recommend removing the buttcap. The buttcap is usually stapled into the racquet; removing it and re-stapling it can weaken or even permanently damage a frame, so we try to avoid it when possible.
