Comments about HEAD I. S12:
From Aug.2010 to May 2013 I have bought six IS-12 racquets from Holabird. They were the predecessor of the IX-16 (with chip in the handle). I played with 3 IX-16's for the last 10 years but Head discontinued them years ago. I have demo many new sticks from all the brands but none plays for me better than the IS-12. I gave 3 to my 50 yo dau who is a 4.0 & she loves them, & I kept 3 for myself. It comes prestrung but I cut out those strings & have it restrung at 52 lb tension. I am a Sr. 3.5 daily player & I can generate more racq head speed with it. I thank Head for reviving the IS-12 & Holabird for stocking it.

Comments about HEAD I. S12:
should be sent unstrung, intellistring is good, I use it when restringing, think the string that comes with it is old, this is the second one the strings broke within 10 minutes. When restrung, strings last 3 months of 3x's weekly play. Normal shipping took 9 days, so don't be in a hurry

Comments about HEAD I. S12:
I got this racquet because of its light weight, length, and large head size to improve the speed of my serves... And it did! One thing that surprised me was that the string pattern of 14x17 and the top string starts a couple of inches from the top, which results in mishits that it normally would not with 16x19 racquets.

Q:
How is it different rom IX 11. I like my IX11Asked on 4/22/2013 by Bud from San Jose CA1 answer
A:
The i.S12 is a quarter of an inch longer than the i.X11 and it is slightly lighter. As a whole, the two racquets are very similar. Both will offer lots of power and an oversized hitting surface. The i.S12 was actually in HEAD's original Intelligence line of racquets, while the i.X11 was released as part of the second generation of the technology. The i.S12 (and all Intelligence racquets) features piezoelectric fibers just in the throat, while the i.X11 (and all Intelligence X racquets) features piezoelectric fibers in the throat and the upper hoop of the racquet for greater stiffness. In the end, if you are looking for a similar racquet to replace your i.X11, the i.S12 is probably a good place to start.Answered on 4/23/2013 by Ryan from Holabird Sports
