  • Q:

I currently have a Wilson hyper sledge hammer 2.0, 115 head size.
Was thinking about the EX03 silver 115.
Is this your closest racquet with similar specs for me to compare.
I like to hit ball hard, and am looking for power and control.

Matching up an older racquet is always a little tough, partly because of changing technologies and materials. The EXO3 Silver is fairly close and is definitely worth trying, but it is about an ounce heavier than your Hyper Sledge 2.0 Oversize. I would also recommend checking out the Wilson Two BLX (http://www.holabirdsports.com/tennis/racquets/wilson-two-blx.html). Although the specs aren't identical, the Two BLX is Wilson's spiritual successor to the popular Sledge 2.0 line. The Dunlop Biomimetic S8.0 Lite is also pretty similar (http://www.holabirdsports.com/dunlop-biomimetic-s80-lite.html) and is worth looking at as a replacement. We do offer a demo program so that you can try out up to three racquets at a time and pay only the cost of shipping. I encourage anyone looking for a racquet to take advantage of the demo program (http://www.holabirdsports.com/demo-racquet-program) before making a purchase decision, as it will give you an opportunity to actually hit with the racquets you are interested in before you buy. Please don't hesitate to contact us at (866) 860-1416 or info@holabirdsports.com if you have any additional questions.

  • Q:

I use to play with the TT Scream racket for 11 years and now I want to graduate to the Prince EXO3 Silver 115 2011. My fear is that it will take me a while to get accustom to the new racket. I am playing at the USTA 3.5 and 4.0 levels and have a pretty good forehand and the backhand keeps me in the game. Do you recommend this racket to a 59 year old scrapper?

Yes this racket would be recommended however it will take some time to get used to it. The issue is any racket that is not the same as yours will take some time.

Anytime you switch racquets, there is going to be a bit of an adjustment period even if the two racquets are fairly similar. The EXO3 Silver is a bit more powerful than your Triple Threat Scream, but if you are looking to move into a more powerful frame then this might be the right racquet for you. Just keep in mind that when you go to a more powerful frame, you will give up some control. I would also recommend taking advantage of our demo program (http://www.holabirdsports.com/demo-racquet-program) before making a purchase decision. Doing so will allow you to actually test out some potential racquets on the court so you can get a feel for them and see which ones you like and dislike.

  • About Prince
Prince tennis racquets have always been revolutionary; in fact, they made the very first oversized racquet. Today, Prince racquets can be found in the hands of pros—like David Ferrer and Gael Monfils—and recreational players alike. Overall, Prince tennis racquets are known for increased ball control and stability and a significant reduction of frame vibration, making them perfect for any player type. But Prince doesn't just make tennis racquets. They also make fine tennis shoes, tennis apparel, grips, strings, squash racquets, and squash eyeguards.
