Kinetic: A strip of pods containing hundreds of tiny lead bearings is incorporated inside of the racquet frame during production. If you shake the racquet it sounds almost like sand inside the frame. This strip creates a secondary energy source, reduces shock & dampens vibration, and provides exceptional torsional stability. Simply put Kinetic is better shots, more often, with less pain!

Ionic: Ionic technology delivers advancement to the famed Kinetic Technology adding a Jetron fill to the chambers. Jetron is a remarkable inelastic composition of ionizing carbon structures used as a coating for the Kinetic mass and chambers, creating a completely clean and unique feel of pure atomic energy.

What is the difference between this racket and the 7G classic? Which frame is stiffer?

There is a slight difference in terms of technology. Both use Kinetic technology (encapsulated ball bearings that are allowed to move somewhat freely) that is designed to reduce shock and dampen vibration. The Pro Kennex Kinetic Pro 7G Classic featured the first generation of the technology had seven grams of tiny lead ball bearings encapsulated within small chambers inside the frame. At times, static charges would cause some of these bearings to "stick" to the walls of the chamber, so you wouldn't always get the full effect of the technology. The Pro Kennex Kinetic 5X 2013 features the second generation of the technology, called Kinetic Ionic, and contains five grams of lead ball bearings. The ball bearing chambers and the ball bearings have a special coating that keeps them from sticking, so you get the full effect of the technology on every swing. Other than that, the two frames are really very similar. The Kinetic Ionic 5X is slightly stiffer and has a slightly higher swing weight. Both frames are certainly worth a try, especially if you are suffering from any arm pain or tennis elbow.
