  • Q:

I played with this Wilson and use a Luxor string. I am told this string doesn't stretch as much and provides better spin. Is this correct? Also is this the best metal strings for producing spin

Polyester strings, like Luxilon, don't stretch as much during installation as multifilament strings. Like all strings, polyester strings continue to elongate and lose tension after installation; however, polyester strings generally tend to lose tension more quickly than solid core synthetics or multifilaments. While polyester strings do have the potential to produce more spin than multifilament strings or solid core synthetics, there are a number of other variables that can ultimately affect spin production. Things like the racquet's string pattern, tension, and of course your swing affect how the ball comes off the racquet so it's important to experiment and find the exact set up that works for your game and style.

  • Q:

Would a racquet like this be good for a 3.0--3.5 player who likes control, but also likes power? What would be good in the way of string and string tension? The racquet is the Wilson 95 6.1 16x 18 .

This is an excellent racquet for a 3.0-3.5 player looking to add speed and control to their game. String and tension are based off the players preference. The lower the tension the more power you will get with less control. The Higher the tension the better the control but sacrificing speed.
