This string is technically a 15L gauge. We apologize for the confusion on the product description. Although it was not the case on this product, there is some overlap on gauge classifications (for instance, 16 gauge is 1.26-1.34mm and 16L is 1.22-1.30mm, meaning that a string measuring 1.28mm could be classified as 16 OR 16L).
