  • Q:

I folded and then froze the ice pack. It's too hard and hurts my Achilles tendonitis. I tried again with another ice pack with less water and dried it. Still too hard and also the folded ends stick to one another. I took it out of the freezer but it didn't melt properly. Any suggestions?

Can I run in it? Do I wear socks with it?

      A:

This product is intended primarily as a recovery tool, though it could be used without the ice packs as a regular compression sleeve. I would recommend wearing socks with this sleeve if you intend to use it during activity to help protect your forefoot from hotspots and blisters, though it will add some bulk and ultimately will depend upon your comfort level after trying it with and without socks. You may also wish to consider some of our compression socks (http://www.holabirdsports.com/running/gear/compression-recovery/shopby/hb_sports_medicine_type-compression_socks.html) as an alternative for compression during activity.

Yes, you can run in these socks and you don't have to wear an extra pair of socks.

This product is one size fits most and a shoe can be worn with it.

      A:

One Size Fits Most. The material is thin enough to wear it with a shoe but may be difficult to keep ice pack in.

  • Q:

My worst pain is very low on my ankle, actually at the back of my heel where the back of a shoe ( if I could tolerate it) would be. Will the ice pack target that area? It's not clear from the picture or the product description that the ice pack goes that low. Thank you.

      A:

The low-profile integrated ice pack pocket targets the Achilles area. Depending how high the sleeve is pulled up, it lies right above the lowest part of the ankle. It can be adjusted to touch part of the heel but not the entire heel.
