Comments about New Balance 806 Men's:

This is my first pair of 806's after coming from Barricade 2's 2E. I have bought New Balance 2E before and they were painful to wear. Since Adidas doesn't make the 2E any longer I splurged for 806's. These are VERY wide shoes, which is ok by me. The problem is they are clodhoppers. They don't feel athletic, I feel like Frankenstein and I do not feel fast when I go for a ball. I will not be buying these again.

Comments about New Balance 806 Men's:

I use these for tennis. Don't understand why NB would compromise their market position and reputation for making wide and comfortable sports shoes by remaking and resizing their tennis shoes narrower and with a smaller and lower toe box? These are slightly better than some of the older recent models, but much worse than their older styles. Hopefully they will stretch out before I get a painful blister.

Comments about New Balance 806 Men's:

I had my previous new balance sneakers for almost 2 years. These were a replacement for the exact same size (8.5 E). They are lightweight providing both good comfort as well as good support. As a recreational tennis player, it's very important to have good support since my ankles would be more prone to injury. The only disappointment was that I love the previous black color with yellow accents, rather than the basic white. But that's not enough to take away a star

Does the 806 have a higher toe box than most other NB tennis shoes. I am a size 14D and have hammer toes. Would you suggest any other NB tennis shoe?

                    A:

The 806 is perfect for players that need some motion control. The toe box is roomier than most, but it is a leather upper that may constrict the toe if your feet push up during play. The New Balance 1006 is an excellent shoe option that's soft on your feet but still hard on the court. With a breathable mesh upper, your feet can move and breathe better than the 806.

                • Q:

Due to a nasty experience with planter's fasciitis, my physical therapist recommended that I wear a tennis shoe with motion control. Since I have always worn NB, due to the fact that they make great shoes for my xwide feet, he checked his source and recommended the 804. I bought several pair, and I have had no problems with the planter's. I am now ready to re-up. Apparently, the 806 is a solid bet. My question is this: Are there other NB tennis shoe models with equivalent motion control? If so, please advise. Many thanks.

New Balance tennis shoes offer great support and maneuverability on the court. Besides the 806 we would suggest the 896 which has excellent stability during all of your multi-directional movement. Checkout other wide New Balance shoe options here >>> http://bit.ly/1m7geXq

                    A:

The 806 and 803 should both have very similar fits. Manufacturers are always hesitant to make big changes to any shoe that is successful (including the 803 and 804); however, some minor tweaks have been made to the upper. The intention of these changes is to make slight improvements without changing the fit, feel, or function of the shoe. These changes are small, but I always recommend that customers try new versions of a shoe on before taking them out on the court. Everyone's feet are unique and sometimes even small changes may affect the feel and fit of the shoe for a small percentage of customers.

Main differences between the new balance 804 and 806

                    A:

Shoe manufacturers are often hesitant to make large changes to successful shoe models and changes are often limited to stylistic changes on the upper. The New Balance 804 was one of New Balance's most popular tennis shoes and all that really changed was the design of the upper. Keep in mind that everyone's feet are unique and sometimes even small changes can affect the fit and feel of a shoe, so we always recommend trying the new model of a shoe on no matter how insignificant the changes are.

                  Hi,

Is the New Balance 806 the successor of the New Balance 804, a shoe I LOVE?

                    A:

Yes, the 806 is the replacement for the 804. Keep in mind that there are sometimes minor changes made to shoes between models that can change the fit or feel of a shoe. The 806 stayed pretty true to the feel of its predecessor, but I would still recommend trying the shoes out on a carpeted surface--if possible--before wearing them on the court for a match or practice.

                • About New Balance
New Balance has grown to be one of the largest manufacturers of running shoes and they've done this without expensive advertising campaigns. New Balance knows that there is no better press than positive word-of-mouth. New Balance began as an arch support company, but in 1960, they designed the first running shoe with a ripple sole and the first running shoe that came in varying widths. It didn't take long before New Balance running shoes were used by college track teams all over the country. Today, New Balance makes their shoes available in more widths than almost any other company and that means that there's a New Balance that can fit nearly any foot. Although they started by making running shoes, New Balance tennis shoes are an industry staple and are loved by recreational and serious players. New Balance also makes fine running and tennis apparel, as well as a variety of socks and other sporting accessories.
