          • Q:

Due to a nasty experience with planter's fasciitis, my physical therapist recommended that I wear a tennis shoe with motion control. Since I have always worn NB, due to the fact that they make great shoes for my xwide feet, he checked his source and recommended the 804. I bought several pair, and I have had no problems with the planter's. I am now ready to re-up. Apparently, the 806 is a solid bet. My question is this: Are there other NB tennis shoe models with equivalent motion control? If so, please advise. Many thanks.

New Balance tennis shoes offer great support and maneuverability on the court. Besides the 806 we would suggest the 896 which has excellent stability during all of your multi-directional movement. Checkout other wide New Balance shoe options here >>> http://bit.ly/1m7geXq

I now have the New Balance 803. Does the 806 fit the same?

              A:

The 806 and 803 should both have very similar fits. Manufacturers are always hesitant to make big changes to any shoe that is successful (including the 803 and 804); however, some minor tweaks have been made to the upper. The intention of these changes is to make slight improvements without changing the fit, feel, or function of the shoe. These changes are small, but I always recommend that customers try new versions of a shoe on before taking them out on the court. Everyone's feet are unique and sometimes even small changes may affect the feel and fit of the shoe for a small percentage of customers.

Main differences between the new balance 804 and 806

            • Staff Reviewer

              A:

Shoe manufacturers are often hesitant to make large changes to successful shoe models and changes are often limited to stylistic changes on the upper. The New Balance 804 was one of New Balance's most popular tennis shoes and all that really changed was the design of the upper. Keep in mind that everyone's feet are unique and sometimes even small changes can affect the fit and feel of a shoe, so we always recommend trying the new model of a shoe on no matter how insignificant the changes are.

            Hi,

Is the New Balance 806 the successor of the New Balance 804, a shoe I LOVE?

              A:

Yes, the 806 is the replacement for the 804. Keep in mind that there are sometimes minor changes made to shoes between models that can change the fit or feel of a shoe. The 806 stayed pretty true to the feel of its predecessor, but I would still recommend trying the shoes out on a carpeted surface--if possible--before wearing them on the court for a match or practice.

          • About New Balance
New Balance has grown to be one of the largest manufacturers of running shoes and they've done this without expensive advertising campaigns. New Balance knows that there is no better press than positive word-of-mouth. New Balance began as an arch support company, but in 1960, they designed the first running shoe with a ripple sole and the first running shoe that came in varying widths. It didn't take long before New Balance running shoes were used by college track teams all over the country. Today, New Balance makes their shoes available in more widths than almost any other company and that means that there's a New Balance that can fit nearly any foot. Although they started by making running shoes, New Balance tennis shoes are an industry staple and are loved by recreational and serious players. New Balance also makes fine running and tennis apparel, as well as a variety of socks and other sporting accessories.
