Tennis balls are made with an internal pressure of 14 PSI, and packaged in a pressurized can. Pressure is released when you open the can and pressure in the ball escapes through it's porous rubber. Hitting the ball during play forces the internal pressure to escape even more. Balls lose new bounce quickly after you open the can.

Tennis Ball Saver surrounds the balls with 14 PSI pressure during storage. This stops the natural leakage from balls. Also if stored for about 4-8 weeks, it will force pressure back into the balls giving them new ball bounce. To test balls, drop them from 100" To be good they should bounce over 53".

If you're tired of throwing away tennis balls after one use because they're dead, then you definitely need to get a tennis ball saver. The tennis ball saver keeps balls pressurized, just like the can, so they won't go flat as quickly. Plus, it's almost the same size as a tennis ball can, so it will fit right into your bag.

Don't throw good balls away for lack of bounce. Keep them fresh in a Tennis Ball Saver.

Comments about Gexco Enterprises Tennis Ball Saver:

Here are the pros. The ball saver is strong and holds air pressure of 14 psi which is the pressure in a can of tennis balls. But my purpose was to keep a can of balls with only one set on them at original pressure.

Here are the cons. The ball saver does NOT keep the pressure at 14 psi nor restore original tennis can pressure.

I modified the ball saver by drilling a hole in the top and putting in an automobile valve stem and pumping the pressure up to 30-40 psi. This restored the pressure to the balls.

So, sure, buy the product. But modify it to make it work properly.

I've been using one of these forever but left it on the court and it disappeared. Luckily, Holabird has them in stock. I feel it really makes my tennis balls hold their pressure longer so they can be played with longer.

Comments about Gexco Enterprises Tennis Ball Saver:

I have had one of these Tennis Ball Savers since I played on my tennis team in high school over 30 YEARS ago. I got away from tennis (wife, kids, work, other hobbies) but recently started playing again. I dug my 30+-year-old Saver out of my basement and put a little Vaseline on the rubber o-ring, and it was as good as new. It will keep the bounce fresh until you wear out the felt! In fact, I just bought an extra Saver so I could have extra fresh-bounce balls to practice with. The new Saver is identical to my old one. The bar code sticker is even the same because I still have the UPC sticker on my old Saver. Just yesterday I tested my old Saver. Now, I had played several hours with the old Penn balls, so some of the felt was gone and you could barely make out the Penn writing. I opened a new can of Penn balls and did a drop test between the balls that I had opened over 3 weeks ago which I had kept in my old Saver vs the balls from the freshly opened can. The bounce height was exactly the same! Nuff said.

Comments about Gexco Enterprises Tennis Ball Saver:

These things WORK! I have had a Tennis Ball Saver for over 30 years (yes, 30...years!). I got it when I played competitive tennis in high school. It worked then and STILL works now. I recently started playing tennis again after getting frustrated with how long it was taking to play a round of golf. Plus, tennis is better exercise...and free! I rummaged through my basement and found my old Saver. A little Vaseline on the o-ring, and it was good as new. I just bought another one so I can have 6 decent balls to hit when playing or practicing because I hate using practice balls. And I hate having to constantly buy new cans of balls. I tell everyone about these things. In my experience, they keep the tennis balls feeling pretty close to fresh until the felt is almost worn off. I'm kind of surprised that everyone doesn't have at least one of these. You will not be disappointed.

Racquetballs are no longer pressurized, so the tennis ball saver wouldn't work with the balls.

The Tennis ball saver can be opened by twisting with some pressure. The grooves should twist to align before lifting.

Over time, this unit can force air pressure back into flat tennis balls and repressurize them, but this process usually takes about a month.

All you have to do is put the tennis balls inside and screw on the lid.

The way this tennis ball saver works is you squeeze the top and bottom together. When you do this, the o-ring compresses the air inside to 14 psi.
